The Last Goodbye - EQ's Perspective

Postby TheEqualizer on 26 Aug 2008 04:34

Yeah. I really should have ended the story there - on the empty streets of NY just soaking it in. As you know (speaking to VTfan), the rest is kind of just anti-climax. But I'll spew the rest of the story out just for the sake of completeness. You know, to officially document my experience. I see about maybe 2 more parts just so that I can get to the VERY end which I have thought out quite a bit at this point.

Please keep it coming -- anything that night after the show itself would be anti-climactic (sp?). Your retelling of the events whether climax or not is a GREAT read (by myself and many others) so do not let me hinder your inspiration...write..write...write.....pleaseeeeeeee more

I'm sure you won't belive this, but I still have the manuscript copy you gave me from (what was it?) 1988.

So last night, I learned that the people at Flickr hate me. Hate me. Hate my kind. Hate my dog. Hate Lil' EQ. That must be the explanation since I can't seem to properly upload my pics despite much effort last night. Anyway, here's a few and hopefully I will figure out how to get more up shortly.

The Bootleg Boys: Me and Agroovie1 (I think we were both downloading at least 3 torrents each from Dime at the time the pic was taken):

Vermontfan finding out what The Flag is all about:

The SC.net gangstas. Me and Dive flashing our gang signs:

Mr. D, Stevel and EQ. This was right where you lined up to get to the turnstiles. We had to have the pic taken there as D wasn't going to move  :

Vermontfan got all artsy fartsy when he took this pic of me and AN-I-MAL. LOOOOOOVE the t-shirt. Like you wouldn't know it was him without it. Why we are crouched down like that, I have no idea:

Here's a pic actually from the show. Right after ELTSDIM. I like this pic cuz Andy just looks soooooo happy:

Hopefully I will be able to upload more before long.

I've still got a bit left in my story, but first . . .

MORE PHOTOS!

Me and Vermontfan in Little Italy eat some mighty fine pie at Ray's Original or Original Ray's; whatever it was, it was fucking GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD. I drooooooooool just thinking about it that ricotta, olive, pesto slice I had:

Waaayy glad I chose not to wear my Stewart Copeland and the Rhythmatists shirt cuz I can't pull it off any where as well as the uber fly Bongo Boy:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/28826933@N04/2807998258/

Ska Man is legally required to wear these shades to avoid blinding the public with his coolness. NY obsenity laws required the Wookie to keep his tongue holstered in public:

Trying to be sneaky: "Pssst. Hey. Check it out. I'm standing right next to THE St. Jeff."

To quote Schmaffy, MMMEEEEEEYUMMMMY:

And finally, a pic from the show. A little dark but cool nonetheless. Right before Purple Haze. Stewart just finished parading The Flag on stage. This is a point in the general direction of D/Pecos/Kelly (Damn cymbal in the way):

I like posting photos.

Me and PoliceRule at the Alanis Morrissette concert (ok, not really, but her ex-drummer was there):

Jose's body was in Lima but his spirit was at MSG

http://www.flickr.com/photos/28826933@N04/2808063780/

Not sure which looks better: the pics taken by DAO or DAO himself. Now THAT'S a good looking guy

http://www.flickr.com/photos/28826933@N04/2808063788/

Can't get enough of the pics from ELTSDIM. The guy with the camera is the guy who took the Invisible Sun pics

http://www.flickr.com/photos/28826933@N04/2808063792/

Hope no one's eating. This is what Mrs EQ calls one of my "naked Sting" pics:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/28826933@N04/2808063796/

Finally, a touch blurry, but a decent Flag on stage shot during KOP

http://www.flickr.com/photos/28826933@N04/2808063760/

More to come :D :D

Ok I'll bite....you have a literary skeleton in the closet EQ?

Love the photos - you look absolutely ecstatic in all of them :-)

(PS - Vermontfan, a thousand thanks for the excellent VT beer advice. Highlight was a truly divine IPA at MacNeils)
