OT-- New Guitar Hero vs. Rock Band

Dear Santa...

ps... full Oysterhead & all Claypool album downloads :D

This perfectly segues into something I was thinking:

Um. I know there are a few Police Tracks for RockBand... Downloadable, right? 4 Songs, is it?

But who do we have to lobby for a full album of Police tracks?
Because there's a legion of nutters out there who'd love to have the drum tracks, eh? To practice their Stew Chops.

And it seems there's no better way of spreading the gospel to twelve year olds of how rock-tastic a band is than by putting it's material in a video game.

I suppose that the problem is that there isn't enough Guitar Wankery in the catalog to make it GH Wank worthy. ie, the guitar parts aren't 'hard enough'.

However, what about a GH/RB Album edition of 'Certifiable'?

Lots of wankery on there....

There was a Police track pack, containing 3 songs, plus one more on a mixed track pack plus Next to You which came with RB1 for a total of 5 songs.

I don't think that the lack of wank worthiness on the guitar has anything to do with Police songs not being on GH. There are PLENTY of non wank worthy songs on GHWT. PLENTY. Also, the Police songs on RB2 are plenty challenging, especially in comparison to the other songs in the game. MIAB comes to mind.

With that said, I would waaayy support, lets say, a full release of RDB, ZM or Certifiable. I would fucking flip if Grand Pecking Order were to be released.

I'm not so sure about more Police songs. The drums, certainly. But you're right, Pluto.. not enough wank on the guitar and bass for those games.
The drums are insane though... I can rarely get through NTY on the hard setting. Kills me.

I haven't really played in months though. Only because I am limited to RB1 for PS2... no downloads. Blows.

Certifiable would be fun, but I'm not sure the target audience would be so into that.

I'll tell you... the Blondie songs are really tough on the drums.

One song:

No Time This Time

I'd like to see the peeps on youtube get through that one!

This guy rocks though:

check out some of his drum videos

he's my 22 yr old internet blind crush

Edit: I asked him why he didn't post any Police and this was his response:

"However, the Police, along with a few other bands, pretty much explicitly remove any and all videos of people playing them on Rock Band from YouTube pretty quickly."

Of course

Dear STEWART,
Perhaps a little counterintuitive, but this is bad for business.

Given the typical (geezer, cough, geezer!) demographic for THE POLICE, management needs to be soliciting the gamer/youtube generation, not turning them off.
