What Brought You Here?

My first post is about Stewart coming to Savannah. I had lurked a while after the Atlanta concert, and joined in December. Long time Police fan, always intrigued by Stewart's playing, loved watching him play, even before I was into the drums.

[quote="E"]Hi, I'm new, I'll be there in Savannah too (I live here)....btw, there are stilll 4 front row tickets available at savannahmusicfestival.com....they are $35 each.

I was a LONG time lurker (back to the sc.it days) before actually registering. Police freak since I was 12 in 1980. When the Police called it quits I discovered the Klark Kent stuff (along with Rumble Fish) and the Summers/Fripp stuff. I figured if there would be no more Police stuff I'll just get all the individual stuff the three guys produce (which I do to this day).

I started lurking on this site because it was cool and very informative. It also seemed to be a great reflection of Stewart with its open and participatory vibe. As has been said many time before, "Stewart kicks ass."

I joined the site after the reunion announcement. This is the only forum I've ever joined and the only one I've ever posted on (unless you count Amazon reviews). Obviously (by the number of my posts) I still generally lurk rather than post. This forum is filled with great folks. I've found lots of answers to questions I've had here and I've been able to locate tons of boots and such from info on this site as well. It's entertaining as hell to read the threads too. It's part of my morning ritual now to check sc.net. Great job Gio and everyone else who helps run the site.

Oh, my first post was about the fee to join thepolice.com.

Thanks STEWART!

I'm with Alex. We were buds through Uncle Ian first. Met Gio and the rest of the crew (you know who you are!) through Leroy. Long time die hard since May 1983 when I heard the first bar of Every Breath You Take. I remember reading about Gio in the Outlandos newsletters....

I found the site around the beginning of the tour, but I don't think that it was the disaster gig that brought me here. I think I just googled and stumbled across it.
But, then I lurked.
For a long while.

After I was hooked on it, Savannah pushed me over the precipice. And, darn it, now I come here each day to chat with you lovely nutters.

My passion for Stewart prevented me from running away immediately.

I too am one of the proud and few great-grandaddys on this site when it had an .it extension. I came here via Ian's site. I was a big AUIer fan and visited it daily although mostly a lurker there until I actually met the big guy. Sadly a huge vaccuum was created when Ian passed away. I was delighted to see that Stewart grabbed the torch and ran with it once he started posting his Dinner Tales here.

My very first post to Stewart about his film reels for posterity's sake...

It was nepotism. My sister, SamburuSunset, introduced me. Blame her.

I had lurked from around the time of before the Vancouver shows, through the early period of the tour. But it was the tube sock avatars. I thought they were hilarious and loved the fact that other people even remembered that Stewart wore them. I said to myself, I have GOT TO get to know these people, this has to be a good thing. I am so glad I did.

I used to visit the stewartcopeland.it site, but only vaguely remember it. If I recall correctly, it used to showcase Gio's impressive SC collection.

Then Mr. C's derangements got me to lurk around the messageboard sporadically, and then this reunion finally forced me to post some ramblings.

When they first reunited to practice for the Grammys, I thought there might only be two or 3 shows and that there was no way in hell I was gonna score tickets. So back then, I was most looking foward to a live DVD and maybe some stuff to come out of the vaults.

And thanks to this site, I've finally gotten into more of SC's work than just the KK stuff. I've got to thank this site and tour for the rerelease of the Rhythmatist, the release of the Anthology, and hopefully much more to come.
I wasn't even supposed to be here today.
