OK, I may not have been technically correct. But the point remains that SC doesn't engage his fans via his website like he should. Without his input and response, we just look like a bunch of sychophants, idolizing an absentee idol.
Wow, two posts in the last several weeks? Pardon me if I'm underwhelmed.
Well, if it's any consolation, JL, you most certainly do not come across as a sycophant.
Who is to say he ought to "engage his fans via his website" at all? He's not obliged to do so. It's not his job. And even if "nobody's that busy", maybe he just has more interesting things to do with his time!
Rather than complaining that he doesn't post on a fan-forum often enough, I think you ought to consider how lucky we are that he visits the forum and engages with his fans
at all. So many musicians, actors, etc have websites that are run without their involvement, arranged by the record company, there to sell the product, there to sustain a distance between the artist and the fans - all communication at one remove.
And here we have Stewart, who is obviously involved with the site, who contributes enthusiastically with news updates and blogs. I think it's amazing, to be honest (not to mention brave, considering some of the nutters that prowl the internet) that he is willing to make direct contact like that.
I couldn't believe it when I first saw his posts on here, and my first thought was how cool it was that he was SO MUCH in contact with the fans on a day-to-day basis, willing to speak to them directly instead of issuing statements through a representative. That's still a rare thing, and something to be appreciated, not snarked at because he doesn't drop in as often as you'd like.
