 woow really great... that's the Stewart's guitar trade mark sound... amazing bass attack at the end 8)

Is possible to find it in good video quality? Someone said It was broadcasted two years ago in UK
My version is of better quality...I do have a new AVID program at work. Maybe I can screw around it with where it doesn't hurt so much to look at it, lol.

I always adored Mark King as a bass player...It would have been awesome to see him in a rhythm section with Stewart, but you have to admit that he has an awesome stage presence as a guitarist (and it's his dream instrument...Every drummer wants to be at the front. Most as singers. He as guitarist)

Stewart and Mark King are pretty much No. 1 and 1a with me as far as favorite musicians go, so you can imagine I was thrilled to get this tape so many years ago. It was also cool that MK responded to me about it, as it seemed he had forgotten about it too.

Level 42 actually opened for The Police in Germany for a few shows, I think back in 1981 or so. L42 were booed off the stage, but came back strong on night No. 2, according to legend. Couple of the members of the band commented on how they were struck by the Police's work ethic.

What I'd really like to do is somehow find a producer or someone who organized this Terry Wogan show to see if a clean version can be acquired. That would be the ultimate.

Can't wait 'til i actually remember to check this when i've got my headphones on me! I remember picking up the Live For Life! disc because its tracklist supposedly included a live version of this tune, only to discover it may have been a different mix.

Mark King was supremely underestimated. I remember getting bleeding blisters trying to learn just the beginning of Lessons in Love.
Those two would have been The Rhythm Section. For some reason, I saw King's style closer to what Stewart was doing at the time than Stanley Clarke's (other monster bassist, good Lord).
I was in England a lot in the 80s and Wogan's show was very popular. The issue is that not always the transfer from VHS to DVD is painless. That particular show must have been recorded badly in the first place or played bazillions of times.
Hopefully somebody will find a better copy. Anyway, it was a real treat. :D

Oh good gong. That is definitely Children in Need (telethon thingy). I have a dim memory of sitting open-mouthed in front of the TV and thinking 'What on EARTH was that?!' Mostly lost in admiration of Rowan Atkinson's balls for playing a percussive instrument that badly, but with great verve, in such company.

And Mark Brzezicki to boot.. :D
from Wiki

Mark Brzezicki (born Mark Michael Brzezicki, 21 June 1957, Slough, Berkshire, England) is a rock drummer, who is primarily known for his work with Big Country, and is a former member of the groups The Cult, Ultravox, and Procol Harum. He has also played with Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey, Midge Ure, Fish, The Pretenders and many others.

Brzezicki is the son of a Polish war veteran and an English mother (his surname is pronounced "bruh-zickee"). With Tony Butler (of Big Country) he was known as Rhythm for Hire. Brzezicki left Big Country in July 1989, but rejoined in 1993. Together with Butler, now on lead vocals, and guitarist Bruce Watson, Big Country started gigging again in 2007, as part of their 25th anniversary tour.

In 2004, Brzezicki helped found a new band, Casbah Club, with Bruce Foxton and Simon Townshend.

Smash Hits magazine had a running gag in the 1980s wherein they referred to him as "Mark Unpronounceablename of Big Country".[1]On Pete Townshend's All The Best Cowboys Have Chinese Eyes and White City albums there are joking references to the spelling of his last name.

His brother Steve is a session bass guitarist with whom he frequently cooperates.

Oh no - I remember the 'Mark unpronounceable surname' shit as well.

That has to be the oddest supergroup ever assembled. Even without Rowan Atkinson on tambourine and gurning.

If you like hi hat, you should give Brzezicki a listen. His work with Townshend is just fantastic.
