It's just crazy how happy it makes me to hear from you all!

Helen, all those flag points, plus a dazzling smile and you're still pretty coherent, I'd say! Congratulations on a job well done!! Can't wait to see the photos!

Hannah, I hope tomorrow is even better from your vantage point closer to the action!

Off to bed now, ladies...so you can do this all over again tomorrow!!

Now DM, patience is a virtue, which you learn if you have to get anywhere in London by public transport after midnight.

By what stroke of good fortune did I become obsessed with a band that would sound this DAMN GOOD 28 years after I became aware of their existence?

And then to add to that, to have the equal good fortune to stumble in here a few months ago.

Anyway - I can't write a detailed summary of the show. My brain just doesn't work like that at the best of times, and it is complete mush at the moment. What I can say is that the sight of what appeared to be an entire pitch full of people jumping around to Regatta will stay with me for life. It seemed to be (at least where I was) a crowd of fans. And every word/harmony/guitar part was being sung by someone. There was some 'air drumming' going on in front of me....

I couldn't hear Andy too well, which was slightly frustrating, given that he had rather more opportunity to work his magic than the last time I saw them ;-) But anything that got hit, I heard, and although I was a fair way back down the pitch, I had a pretty good view of things being hit as well - and the screens helped obviously. I'm even more in awe of the guy now - just astonishing. But you possibly wouldn't want to use him as a metronome :-)

I met a fantastic crowd of people today. Watching feralkid and iain28 out-obscuring each other was fun (no really guys - it was great). Aligorgeous was proudly sporting iains early 80s fanclub badge. Kimmy out-outfitted everyone. Hannaha had the bravest shorts I've ever seen on a grown woman. dafttart and I managed to meet on a train on the way there (sort of appropriate I think), and SQUEEEEEEED our way to twickenham. We nearly ended up in the wrong pub. It did have a huge PA outside. And it was blasting Does Everyone Stare at very high volume as we walked by. It was sort of inevitable that we'd be drawn....

The flag got much love from the stage. dafttart is probably just about breathing again now. I still can't get over the fact that right from the get go of a show like that (and first London show is quite a big deal I would guess) anyone would take the trouble to look for and acknowledge the green menace.

dafttart did copelandia proud. the police were just incredible. dirtymartinii deserves a knighthood. all you maniacs that seemed to have sat up half the night on other continents getting excited while we tried to sleep last night probably need some sort of intervention - but bless you - it was such a lovely start to the day reading all those posts.

And stewart, andy, and yes - even sting. thank you. I didn't think it would happen. And I certainly never expected that if it did, it would be this good, this much of a celebration.

It still hasn't sunk in (I guess that is obvious). I get to do it again tomorrow. And in Cardiff. I can't go to wembley. but if there are east coast shows in the spring, I'm there. Beats a two week beach holiday, don't you think ;-)

Oh. Hannaha just posted on another thread - I'd forgotten ... but stewart needs to work a little more on his stick disposal technique. One of them whacked him on re-entry tonight. Well it made me chuckle....

I have goosebumps just reading this.

Are they still doing the double Regatta during CSLY?

Smudge, my dear, you sell yourself short!!

I sat reading your review, nodding my head in agreement as you perfectly conveyed so much of what makes this band, this music, this tour and this incredible website such an amazing gift. You left me feeling all choked up and soppy myself...but in the best way possible.

So glad you get to do this all over again tomorrow! Have the best time!

Thanks for doing that, Hannah. I'll get somebody who knows more than I do about fiddling with photos on the computer to sort out "the point".

Sleep tight hon xx
