hannah... i feel for you. i wasn't thinking when i bought my tickets and i've had to sit here and listen to all the reviews and sweat it out waiting and waiting until my first show on 7/28... now, it's approaching and i am totally FREAKING OUT. i can't imagine how you feel having to wait any longer. my sympathies honey... you'll get there soon enough though! i just think of is as "what am i going to look forward to when it's all over?" - i mean seriously, what am i going to do when there is no police anticipation? that reminds me... i have to make an appointment for some meds....
Urgh... I hadn't really thought about the post-police comedown. It'll be nearly autumn as well and I'm a real S.A.D. gal. AND my best friend is moving away around then too... I am going to be one sad and lonely Police girl. Expect to see me loitering on here even more than usual, muttering to myself about the lack of sunlight and crying in the car humming 'So Lonely' :(

But I'm not going to get all sorrowful now in anticipation of future misery... I've only got 57 days to wait until the best 2 nights of my life swing into view! Until then I'm all about optimism :D

Well the way I dealt with PPDD (Post-police depressive disorder) was to instantly start plotting another way to get to see them live. I set my sights on the Atlanta show and am now feverishly trying to plan that for November. I don't know what you can do, Hannaha, other than to plan to go to Toronto or something.

And then when the tour is all over, completely over, we will have album anticipation and another tour anticipation. Also there is talk of a SCnet convention (which I think is afantastic idea. If yesterday's marathon radio listen proved anything, it was how fun it would be to be in the same room...in say Italy...listening to the Police and geeking out.) And that would be independent of what our three godheads do in the future...so we have some control.

Having said that, I have no idea how you folks in the UK cope with winter. The one winter I've spent there I was miserable. I''ll take my minus thirty below windchill over weeks of steele gray skies anyday.

Zactly!

You go PR. I started out by joking about going to see the Police again. I did that so many times that gradually he got used to the idea. Now, it's normalized in his mind and I can start making travel plans. This is husband conditioning, I think.

Thank you all for your your kind responses. I was worried about severely stretching the rules of forum decorum by posting such a long review. But the reunion means so much to me as well, and I just wanted some of my memories to exist somewhere beyond me, ya know?

GinaCat, Sadly no, I didn't see the Flag on the Jumbotron. My seats weren't nosehair close, but I still had a good view and tried to focus on the stage more than the video screens. Believe me, I would have been sure to mention it if I had seen the Flag up there.

Hannah, Please don't fret the post concert funk. I was worried too and anticipated being one funky monkey for...well, the rest of my life! But alas, there comes great satisfaction with scratching something off of your "Dream Come True" list. But don't think for two seconds that I didn't seriously consider driving to Tampa for the next night's show. And after that, quitting my job and becoming a professional groupie.

Groupie probably isn't what I'm going for....I was wondering though, what would you call someone who follows the tour? There are already Deadheads and Phish-heads...how about Sock Heads? Maybe it will catch on.
He's superior to me, because I'm less humble than him. I'm an arrogant T@#$!!

Sock Heads unite. You have nothing to loose but your jobs, your spouses, your sanity, etc.

Great report. What a wonderful post!

Sorry you didn't catch the flag. When sting said "welcome to the stewart copeland show" I held it high and did a 360 degree rotation showing everyone. I also did this right before they went on. My friend in the 400 seats saw it! Sorry!
