Dumbest thing I've ever seen

Stewart is never bad, IMHO.

I can't stand Kanye West on general principle, so you already know my feelings here. And no, I don't hate hip-hop. I just don't like Kanye. Having him rap over the Police is like saying, "Here's your wondrously prepared creme broulée, and we decided to sprinkle some liverwurst on top."

I mean, it may be okay on its own, but it just served to fuck up my tasty treat.

I quite understand they were trying to appeal to the younger audience but the "rap idiot" was a joke.

I hope young kids can see the difference between stellar star quality and a freaking hack who should have been ranked off the stage. That was an insult to " The Police's intelligence. And even John Mayer was having a hard time keeping up with Andy.

That is what happens when young kids listen to shit instead of quality. Their mentors suck and they are a product of there mentors so in other words they blow as well.

I had to get a guy in his 50's to do the guitar work on the album that I am currently working on. He understood music theory and composition. These young guitar players today are a joke they know one style and that is all.

Go back to music school get a degree and talk to me later !!!!!

Sorry had to vent...lol...The Police show why they are the "Greatest Band" in the world sum it up in one word "TALENTED".

I didn't enjoy KW's contribution to Message in a Bottle last night -- not even a little.

The idea behind it was a pretty good one -- raise consciousness world wide and to all demographics -- great idea, but KW came off like a tool who could neither rap or sing. I think another rapper (not PD!) would have served a better. I would have preferred Dre or even Snoop out there.

John Mayer -- either love him or hate him, was a good choice in my eyes -- nice trading of guitar parts with Andy.

On the whole though, I thought it was an excellent set, and wish that NBC has shown the whole thing, and not just MIAB. The boys really tore it up on Driven to Tears.

"Driven To Tears" was unbelievable. Talent, indeed. These guys are amazing together---Me still blown away, after having enjoyed them since '79, a true fan. They have it all, they really do.......

Last night, a lot of rap fans were exposed to Police music, and they probably left thinking, "These guys TOTALLY don't know rap."

I have friends who like KW and even they could not defend his "performance" with The Police.

KW demonstrated his comprehension of musical weave.
JM demonstrated his awe for the legendary Police
and Sting showed he is out of good ideas....reunion was the last one.

The Police have done this before as you all know with Bono and it was cool. I guess you have to expect it at huge gig's like this. My worry was only that The Police could look bad just because of KW's unbelieveably bad and amateur performance.

When the Police used to have Ranking Roger from English Beat do a little "toast" on One World it was way cool ! Oh yea, Roger has talent and integrity !!!

I still am in shock that KW had almost nothing to give...y'know those are the moments when you have to "bring it", he showed his..uhm...talent. Am I mistaken here? don't really good talented Rappers "Pride" themselves on rhyming? Therefore...Hmmm...I guess I have been right all this time KW does really suck. Good. At least I got that out of this painful moment.

I have always hated his pretentious and crap lyrics and attitude, to me he is such an ass. Last night I saw Public Enemy doing a medley on an awards show...I thought Man! Chuck D would have smoked...He would have HAD something to say. He is a real artist to me.

Sorry but I am still in shock...but it's no big deal...it's over. I never want to see ot hear that again. I went to youtube thinking, I'll check again, it couldn't be that bad....it was worse!

My real worry is that Sting might lose his voice before July 22nd! Please NO !

He sounded fine, I know it was only a few cracks...but I was worried about these very high Police songs...he has to sing them for over a year! I don't think his solo shows put this much strain on his voice. Take care Stingo ! Stewart make sure he's drinkin his tea !

Driven to Tear was Brilliant STEWART ! FANTASTIC ! better than ever !

Cheers and sorry for blabbing so much, Oh John Mayer was cool.

The Police return after 23 years and perform on a global telecast as the closing act in a historic concert to raise awareness with the hope of changing the environment. Couldn't write this script any better.
Then Kanye comes on stage during their signature tune and takes a major dump on it.

Live Earth? Environmental awareness? After seeing this debacle, I went out to the backyard and burned some tires, left all the lights on, kept my car idling all day, and cut down all the trees in my backyard.
You want something corny?
You got it

Now THAT"S comedy !!!!!

Ha heh HA HA heh he !!!!

I could just se ya running around the house pissed off...flickin all the lights ON ...start your car in the driveway and leave it running for hours...crank up the air conditioning until there is a thin layer of ice on the funiture, start collecting plastic for the now burning pile of tires....heh, heh.

That IS totally how you feel after seeing such a mind-boggling brutal rap over a classic song.

How the %$#@ has he got rich? I don't get it? Snoop I understand I got a few of his records...Public Enemy I have em all...but this guy...I....I......
....didn't think it was possible but KW sucks AND blows.

OK...now onward and upward. I feel sorry for Andy, he must of hated it the most....I truly felt sick.

The Police were great though.

A few posts back, Phaty mentioned that 12 million kids will now know who the Police are. The fact of the matter is that most kids already know who they are. I see kids at my school playing Police music on their iPods all the time! (Of course during non-study time ) And as for me, I can clearly see the difference between star-quality and some terrible rapper... (there are a couple I can stand)
