LiveEarth start time for The Police?

Postby policefan on 05 Jul 2007 16:46

I am a little confused. The Police must be playing rather early at the Live Earth show because don't they have another show to go to in Miami at the Dolphin Stadium? :?

Miami show is not until July 10th.

See:

Must be a misprint on sting.com.

Looks like sting.com screwed up, PFan. The Miami show is on 7/10. (Live Earth is 7/7.)

If the Police play in Miami on the 7th, there are going to be tens of thousands of pissed off ticket-holders -- and tens of thousands of crickets attending the show.
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

Bah. It'll be full of commercials. Maybe we'll get lucky and C-SPAN will cover it.

Anyone know what time it's on in the UK?

I'd imagine the US headliners (the police) would be on in the early hours... or a repeat show the next day perhaps?

Awesome. I was just bitching about this, and it came true. I wonder what else I could change through this method?

Now that would rock. That would be as close to my wish for a live feed and a static camera as you could get.
Bon Jovi and the Police.
I always read Dave Matthews Band and the Police, but they might have gone for the Joyzee factor. I think Bon Jovi have a new album out so it would make sense.

In that case, that will be a nice match to watch!

I have a feeling those watching NBC, will maybe get the highlights and not the full set from The Police.

Like NBC did with the concert for Diana. One or 2 songs from the performers.

Hopefully something will be a bit more pinned down as the 7th approaches, as I'd rather see it in HD and 5.1 if at all possible.

Still no information on the schedule (sigh), but our Canadians should be able to watch all the concerts in their entirety:

TORONTO, July 5 /PRNewswire/ - An unprecedented, multi-channel effort to deliver a green message to Canadians will make CTV's telecast of Live Earth: The Concerts for a Climate in Crisis on 7/7/07 one of the world's most ambitious broadcast efforts for this weekend's events. Canada's leading television network revealed a broadcast plan that will see a marathon, 29-hour High Definition broadcast on CTV as well as over 60 hours of additional live coverage on CTVglobemedia's MuchMusic, MuchMoreMusic, MuchVibe, Bravo! and Star! cable networks, where each (concert from each city will be seen live in their entirety. Finally, live coverage will also be broadcast on CTVgm's flagship radio station 104.5 CHUM FM and on CHUM stations across Canada. The end result is customized-for-Canadians television and radio broadcasts unlike any other in the world.

CTV's non-stop Live Earth coverage will be the longest, single program ever broadcast by the conventional network. Live coverage begins at 9 p.m. ET on Friday, July 6 when the first of more than 150 international artists takes to the stage in Sydney, Australia and continues until 11 p.m. ET on Saturday, July 7, when the historic event concludes at Giants Stadium in New Jersey. Viewers in British Columbia will see 29 hours of coverage, beginning at 6 p.m. PT on July 6 and continuing to 11 p.m. PT on July 7.

Whole article here: http://tinyurl.com/yvzjfm

(I just can't decide if I'm going to go tomorrow. I have serious amounts of work to do -- but there will be lots of bands and speakers -- but each band will be limited, I expect, to about half an hour each -- but the end-of-evening all-star jams are often a laught -- but it'll take a while to commute in and out -- but since "S.O.S." is the general theme, I would expect "Message in a Bottle" to get some emphasis . . . Just not sure.)

Just for reference : Wembley running order and set list in full

Here comes the set list of Wembley, London.

http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/ ... 036036.ece

Each artist plays only 4 tunes or so...even the headliner Madonna.

Maybe the POLICE will play about 30 minutes, I guess.
7 /8/08 NYC-The Flag is forever!
Thank you, Stewart.
