Ha! ABBA!

So much for my "guilty pleasure!"
C'mon over, Stewart...I've got their Greatest Hits right here, filed under "A!"

As for the rest of the interview, y'know, I just really want them all, especially Stewart, to be happy...both personally and artistically. When this reunion was announced, I was elated...but I also couldn't help thinking about things Stewart said in ES:TPIO and Andy wrote in One Train Later. They each made it pretty clear that the huge success of The Police came with certain strings attached...the biggest one being an enormous loss of personal freedom.

As this tour got under way, my greatest concern for them was that they not have to return to that claustrophobic place...where you can't walk out the door without creating a mob scene. I'm truly happy that it seems not to be the case this time around, as each of them has been out and about rather freely since this all began. Still, I'm sure there's a certain feeling of being under a microscope and having your every word dissected (i.e. the fallout from Stewart's post continues even one month later!)

Add to that the reality that each of them has now had the pleasure of steering his own ship, if you will...who knows how long these three strong personalities will want to squelch their personal creative drive?

I'm still just so thrilled to be living this dream-like moment that it's hard for me to think about having it end. Right now I'm just covered in gratitude.

yeah, definitely agree NR. I think many are eager for new material and for the band to carry on, but think we all share the hope that no matter what they do, it is fulfilling.

ABBA? Yes, definitely! Not very punk but ABBA gold is a great album to crank up and clean the house to, dance with your daughters and just generally be silly! How come it's very overproduced, bubble gum pop and yet SOOOOO much more addictive and pleasing than any other????

Well, all I can say is that it's been a dream come true for me as many of you know with my medical history. I just have a strong feeling I'll see them live again with a new album. You can tell Stewart and the band are enjoying themselves with all of the smiles they exuded during the Denver show. I'd really love another shot at seeing them live and have crisp new material for me to listen to for the rest of my days but if not, as a fan, I've enjoyed the ride. This band has made me feel good for almost thirty years, so I guess I can just hope..........
All made up and nowhere to go,
Welcome to the Stewart Copeland Show

Anyway this long world tour (almost a year of nonstopping) is a great effort that our lovely guys are making.

Thank you very much for doing it.

I'm betting you already have the ointment for that. ;)

When I think of them disbanding after the tour, I get terribly excited at the possibilities of new Gizmo or Oysterhead material- just think of how in great "drumming shape" he will be after this tour!!! :D

This is what I love about Stewart....he just comes out and says it like it is.

While I would love nothing better than a new album from the Police...I have to say that at least now I have some "closure". I got to see the first 2 shows in 24 years by the Police, and it only reinforced my love for the band. I can now cross "Never saw The Police play live" off my list of regrets....so I'm a very happy camper about that.

I just hope they can remain friends, and can part ways with a fond remembrance of what they created together. Very few people get to experience what they did.
