Has anybody picked up the new issue of Rolling Stone yet?

Postby policefan on 20 Jun 2007 18:10

Oh, thank you guys for your input. I guess I have to be a little bit more patient. And thanks for the welcome. I am pretty new to this site. I heard about it …… and it kind of pissed me off a bit because I thought the media invaded Stewart’s privacy even though this is a public site. So I checked it out and really liked it. It had that personal feeling to it even though Stewart is probably too scared to post now. SC.net is also very international which I like. I am an Austrian myself, living in Canada and saw the first concert and loved it. I thought it was very special since I listened to them for the last twenty something years. Thanks again for your welcome - see this is a special site :D

Hello, hello....

I went last week to my boarders in the uk and they had the last edition still. They told me to come back this week which I will do... However looking through the shelves I found Drum! (a US import) with 11!!! pages of just Stewart! Photos a description of his drum kit and interview! I still haven't read it but it looks great!!

Policefan... keep trying... I'm sure it'll show up soon...

Oh and welcome to the site..... Let me assure you EVERYONE is lovely here... friendly, helpful, (take the mickey if necessary.....) but loyal to true Stewart fans... enjoy the site!!

Kim

Nice article in RS. The blurb on the cover is slightly misleading - there are no real indications of any "fragility" to their "truce."

I love Stewart's "Sting's my guy" quote, reminding us that HE discovered Sting lo those many moons ago! Sting refers to the Police as "Stewart's band," at one point. Good stuff!

hatchet burried for pete's sake... my bad. i didn't mean to ruffle anyone's feathers. i love being here and have felt welcome - everyone is very nice.

btw... i did read the RS article and it's all stuff i've heard before except andy said that sting was supposed to write 2 new songs and he hasn't. there was also a statement from sting where he said that stewart and andy wanted to jam more on tour, but sting wants everything precise. and my favorite quote by sting:

"It's about me having a good time" "i want the band to enjoy it too, but they
can't unless i am"

that about sums up their entire history together.

I dont know if i would buy it - it's that dumb title 'fragile truce'. as if at any moment they will go back to fistfighting and hating each other, oh which by the way they never did. It's a crappy tabloid headline if i ever read one...
Thanks Stewart!

FWIW, a friend of mine is sending me her copy once she's done reading it and I'll be happy to ship it along to anyone who can't find it themselves. Also more than willing to pick up a copy or two while it's still on the stands and send out...just drop me a note.

The title is total "attention grab" that they do now a days.

I think "We're back!" would have been much more relevant seeing how those are the first words Stingo said at the Grammy's when this odyssey started.

...if they act like they are fighting they will get ten times the attention. Pretty sad state of affairs. It must be difficult for them to get back on the RS cover and then see that headline. I wonder if they have any say in it? it seems they don't.

What was it Stewart said, something like "Journalists have their own agenda"....true words.

Hey Cool...I just took the "Bitchy" title !

...and then I buy the Magazine tomorrow anyway.

On RS, I picked up my copy last weekend. I flipped through the issue in the store, but haven't really looked through it since the mag came home. If anyone can't find one in their area, I'd be glad to check if it's still around here, and pick up one.

I was on the States for the past three days, but in the stores, and even at the airport, it stills June Rollingstone...

I had to look at a couple different stores until I finally found it. Picked a frame up for it too.

I saw the issue today at the news stand near my job...I came **this** close to buying it, but instead I picked it up and flipped to The Police article and glanced over it. The pics were nice, but other than that, I'd rather keep the $$.

I guess I'm out of the R.S. demographic...

that issue is totally political - all about environment & bush bashing. i had a nice time reading it! not a whole lot of music news in there sadly though. honestly, the article was mostly fluff and stuff that police fans already know. if you don't wan to collect it, sit down, take 5 to read it and put it back :D
