FAN CLUB-ONLY SHOW -- Vancouver, May 27 -- CONFIRMED

Postby reggattagirl on 23 Apr 2007 22:35
trying to get an earlier flight is exactly what I'll try. But I also have to work up until the 27th and it will be a close call...
Dietmar
It costs $100 per ticket, at least for domestic U.S. flights.

(Gio, apologies for the following links.)

Ticketmaster has limited event info up: http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/11003 ... norcatid=1

Tickets are listed at the unbloodybelievable $50 Canadian.
To convert that into local money, go here: http://www.xe.com/ .

Good luck, Copelanders! I'm envious!
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

Woof! I'm just now checking in today...(Hannah, since I've seen you I've been to Abbey Road, Oxford Street, the Tower of London, Kew Gardens and a West End play...phew! I'll call you tomorrow.)

I may try to buy tix just so I can resell them to someone like DM, here. That gig'll be fun as hell, but I'm not sure I can swing another international trip this year...although actually, on rereading this:
This incredible event will take place on: Sun. May 27 - Vancouver, BC at GM Place @ 7:30 pm local time...
I'm not sure what I think. GM Place, according to Google, is a gigantic arena. Management claims not all areas will be sold, but I think I'd need to know more about exactly how many people they plan to let into this thing before I'd start getting serious about buying a plane ticket.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's great the band are doing this...I'm just sayin': there are a LOT of fan club members...I hope people don't get really ugly when they don't score front row tickets.

God, you must be pooped Dive! Glad you got to see Kew Gardens - my neck of the woods dontcha know! Was it top hole? ;)

I know what you mean about the size of this - you'd kind of hope they'd do something smallish for fanclub members, although I guess the fanclub isn't so small these days...

It *was* top hole. As was the lovely town nearby...hell, I didn't know you were posh. ;)

(What are you still doing up? I'd call you this instant if I didn't have to get up at 7 AM for my Parliament tour (unfortunately I don't mean the funk band...;))

Haha! Houses of P-funk!

Yeah yeah, I know - I *should* be in bed but I had a shitty day at work and felt like cheering myself up with some copelandia activity!

Dive, you are enormous.

But JJS ^ is correct. Since it's Will Call, IDs will no doubt be involved. Which I think (regardless of my own sitch) is a good thing.

However, if you yourself were in fact looking to attend the FC show and were in search of a second, . . . I'll drop an email for when you've got more time to chat.

Unfortunately, I expect that things will get ugly in some capacity. It seems to be what people do.

But MAD PROPS to The Boys. Whether I go or not, THANK YOU, STEWART!

How big do you think the venu would be? Either way there's no way I can go. Would cost a fortune!

I've been taking a break from The Police lately, mainly obsessed with Offspring and Silversun Pickups, but my friend surprised me with my new addition of Police memorbillia: a 45 single of my two favorite songs from the band, "Don't Stand So Close To Me" and "De Do Do Do".

So awesome. It's shaped like a police badge and everything!

I want to go to this show now.. even though I'm broke and already seeing them twice.

(im leaving NJ the 28th at dark o clock in order to get back to Seattle in enough time to drive home, get changed and head to the 28th show ;-)

Firstly: Thanks Stewart!!!

I had a crappy day at work and spent the pm getting my car tuned up. Needless to say, things looked brighter when I clicked on TPT.com to check things out. I thought, Oh my God! How cool! But it's in Vancouver...bummer. Then it occured to me that I might be able to make this work. I have a cousin who lives north of Seattle. I don't think Vancouver is far from her. I have frequent flyer miles that I could use. But it's a holiday weekend so they're probably blacked-out dates.
Only prob....who'll watch the kitties?

I have questions though. What do they mean by only certain sections will go on sale and they want it to be 'intimate'. Where are the sections? Is this a glorified dress rehearsal? Will all the bells and whistles be in place?
I dunno.

SS, I posted on TPT and emailed HQ asking if they might be more specific about seating arrangements. I even provided a link to the GM Place arena's six general stadium layouts and asked if they might be able to say which one they'd be using. (I love the net.) I can guarantee they won't answer, but I took a shot (cuz what the hell) and will let everyone know if any info comes along.

(ETA: Just got an email from HQ that was uninformative. But meh, I tried.)

As for the show itself, my guess is that glorified dress rehearsal -- or more specifically, tech rehearsal -- is probably on the mark. I have no idea in fact, of course. But as theater goes, it's always nice for practice, bug-fixing, and morale to have one full-on but *unofficial* performance for an indulgent audience who will understand and forgive any screw-ups.

PS -- SS, just got your email. Will reply shortly.

DIETMAR! How'd you do?!? Any luck?

If I could be there is like to be the best night of my entire life... all what Stew, Andy and Sting gave as chances to see them at the very first time...and all wil be waste by me... no credit card, is that not to be a member of TPT.Com and as a result my impossibility to see THE POLICE in that awesome intimate concert and perhaps that never see them for the rest of my deepest lifeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(
