I *really* hope we have more options than just the 'roo, even if it is just one state over from me. It would be so overcrowded and nasty that it would make the event a LOT less enjoyable.

I really don't think the police would do Bonnaroo or any other outdor venue with a hundred other bands. I think they (Sting especially) would want their own 'controlled' Police environment instead of a semi-chaotic who knows what might happen outdoor free for all concert type thing.
My guess is that they will do 10 to 20 select outdoor stadiums like Floyd did back in the 1990's. Maybe a few intimate club things for fun?

In France, there are many rumors about two gigs in Paris in the Stade de France arena on the 30th and 31th of August...
The Stade de France has a capacity of 80,000 people...I saw U2 live there two years ago!!!

OK dig this...sounds crazy,maybe true, maybe not, but...
One of my students says her in-law in Vancouver works for a 'certain studio.' She told me several things such as....
1. The band has already been fitted for outfits and wardrobe orders have been sent out for the tour.
2. There is also word that they will have very special guests on stage in each city they perform in.
3. When I asked her about Bonnaroo, she couldn't say, but looked at me with a grin as if to say "That's where the first show will be." or at least gave the major impression that they will indeed play there.
I then went on to tell her that if she wants to pass my class I'm gonna need more info!!
