I finally wrote up my full review. (insert shameless link promotion here):

Overall I have to say after repeated listens I'm definitely in the "I like it" camp and not "I love it". Some of the problem is I just don't especially care for Giles' singing (it IS at times like Bono, and that's a problem from my point of view. I can't stand Bono's singing, it's like nails on a chalkboard to me.) The lyrics don't grab me and some of them I could only understand thanks to the bonus acoustic tracks. I don't mind the Police similarities in sound and in fact certainly would expect nothing less, at least not when it comes to the guitar work. It's just that it overall feels and sounds very derivative and not unique enough; I keep thinking "wow this song reminds me of... (insert band name here)" instead of feeling like it sounds like something new and fresh and distinct -- and that I want to hear more of it.

I like the way Andy 'thinks' the guitar parts, that's my main impression listening to CZ record. I like the attitude; I can of course listen to the similarities with The Police sound, but it's a different guitar approach that got my attention. There's a mixture of styles, but the attitude is an evolution to what he has done until now.
Of course each one of us may listen to music in various and several ways
