Most four-string basses use a standard tuning of EADG, but on the bridge of Wrapped Around Your Finger, the bass drops down to the low D, a full step lower than the open E. Since I've never known Sting to play a five-string bass, I assume that he lowered the tuning for the recording. In the Synchronicity concert video, he just plays the D up an octave. Does anyone know if he was trying out a five-sting, or just de-tuning his four-string?
