I'm in the same boat. Every day. I can't get away from it.

Along the same vein, I heard "King of Pain" while walking by a restaurant the other day, and "Message in a Bottle" when I walked into the next store.

uhm...too many 'coincidences' for me as well...but we can also say that THE POLICE keep on being one of the most broadcasted band ever, a lot more than THE BEATLES, THE ROLLING STONES, PINK FLOYD and many other monsters that I don't usually listen to in the radio. Songs like 'Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic', 'Roxanne', 'Message In A Bottle', 'Don't Stand So Close To Me' etc...do not look old at all; they keep that freshness that even listening to them now, about 30 years or so from their release, spread that kind of interest...that was the magic trick of The Police.
I dont' think they could realise that by then, considering also they wanted to re-record them for their first Greatest Hits in 1986 (but they failed as the originals were some kinda untouchables); now, after three decades of of releases from other millions band, we can understand that geniality.

A curious thing that all my friends say is that everytime they do listen to a Police or Sting track (tv, radio, articles in newspapers), my name comes to their mind!
I'm sure it happens to many of your friends too.
Sirius is a US based satellite radio system, and First Wave is the station that plays so-called alternative hits from the 80s. It's pretty good, generally, except they have about three New Order, Depeche Mode, and Cure songs on heavy rotation to the point that I sail for the remote when I hear the opening strains of 'Blue Monday'...

Oh, and - I'm getting sort of addicted to BBC1, which they stream but which is tape-delayed five hours. Drives me nuts to keep thinking I'm going to be able to phone in requests, only to realize it's the middle of the night for you Londoners...)
Hi Dive

See if you can tune into

www.wave105.com

It plays up to date stuff but also a lot of 70's and 80's. (Sometimes 60's stuff too) The best show is probably The Golden Hour which is week days between 9 and 10am Brit time though that might be the middle of the night for you? Also 'Teenage kicks' between 6 and 8pm Sunday nights. Always worth a listen whatever time though.

They sometimes play 'Blue Monday' but not very often thankfully as it makes me want to pull my own ears off!

Not a Police Day, but it seems I'm being followed around NYC by "Englishman in New York." Usually (lately) on keyboard and kettle drums. Very strange.
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

My favorite reactions have been to telling people myself + friends got a freaking FREE front row ticket to the last ever Police show at MSG. From Stewart Copeland.

I've had people basically accuse me of lying. Good thing there are about 1,000 photos online of many smiling Nutter faces :D

OT, sort of: I think First Wave on Sirius is getting, well, serious. Last night: 'One World,' which you never freaking hear on any broadcast stations, terrestrial or otherwise. Hey, I'm not complaining. I hardly go a day anymore without hearing at least one Police tune on there.

Speaking of the final gig, you may recall that part of the ticket prices went to NYC's million trees program, which aims to plant a million trees throughout the city. I've started taking photos of street trees in my neighborhood that are here thanks to the Million Trees program--several appeared on my street in fall of 2009 but it wasn't until this spring/summer that I knew for sure they were thriving. I need some more time to get to a few others and then organize and post photos, and I might wait and see if they start changing color or just go brown in the fall.
