I second that!

Now that makes more sense. Who would think two people posting at the same time? Teach me not to "quote". Sorry, I'm feeling a little OCD.

Heard Can't Stand Losing You at age 16, and then I saw film clip where I noticed The Drummer, much more so than that lead singer, oh yes.....

I first heard of The Police in 2007. I was listening to the radio and heard Synchronicity II and just thought WOW!!
It took a while until I discovered the name. My dad told me the name was Message In A Bottle but I absolutely didn't liked that song! Then I heard Roxanne and that was a little bit better.

Then there were the Reunion Tour (Tourzilla right?) in Turin but didn't get the tickets. Suddendly there were a Reunion concert in Mestre (Venice) but Venice was just too far, and I left the Police thing for a while.

But, the first time I heard of the Police's amazing drummmer was when I was going to drum lessons and was reading a sort of Italian Modern Drummer and saw the ad for the Blue Bell Ride. My first thought was AMAZING!!!, then 'kinda strange and useless to color a cymbal' and finally I just wanted it...
It was in the summer of 2008, I think in august!!, that the Police became for me the Best Band of the World!

Yes, I missed them twice. They didn't performed in Rome or Milan. Nooo! They performed 20 minuters from where I live!
But here in Copelandia I can hear of all the funny moments of the Reunion (is it or isn't it called Tourlizza?)

P.S. I'm 14

I became a fan after they said goodbye. Anyway they never came to Romania :( (I surely would've gone to see them if they had because I knew about them for a few years.) That's why I wish they'd perform again, even if just a few shows, but I guess it's not really likely...
Oh well, it's still cool to come here and read about what it was like to see them.

I discovered THE POLICE the day EBYT was released... May 1983. It was a musical epiphany. No words. Now I hate that song, lol. I had never been touched like that by a band so I decided to listen to the rest of their material and found that most of it affected me the same way. I decided to learn all I could about them as people. For years I read any magazine article and watched any interview on MTV about any of them. Of course Stink got most of the press attention but they all intrigued me. Never once did I come across anything that turned me off. Except Sacred Love, but let's not go there, lol. They all have unique personalities, and are good interviewees. Most of the time after I read or see an interview I'm even more intrigued and feel proud to be an admirer of these guys. There are no sordid stories of drugs, women, bad behaviour, you know? Maybe that stuff went on but Miles kept a good old lid on it! There was just yoga, polo and photography. Of course spending time with Ian on the Backstage forum made us all feel like part of the Copeland family, and much of that atmosphere was transferred here after Ian left us. I will never forget the story he told about him and Stewart farting in the car, lol. He showed us another side of Stewart. I will always have a soft spot for these guys; they are like my uncles.
yo!!
