Call for submissions:'This Is Not Our Last Goodbye'

Postby njperry on 01 Oct 2008 20:12

This procastinator has finally submitted.

It was longer than intended, proabbly because I rushed.

As Twain once said "I didn't have time to write a short letter, so I wrote a long one instead."

Many thanks to Sockii for taking care of this.

PHEW! I'm an uber-procrastinator, and have had too much of life to attend to lately to indulge in musings of a fannish nature. Will work on it this afternoon ... and evening while watching the opening Cubs game of the playoffs :D !

Good luck with the writing. I'm trying to ignore the baseball. Can't believe the Mets lost their last game at Shea. Do my guys have no sense of upbeat narrative? (Sorry - off topic in the extreme, but nobody over here gets it!)

Continuing OT.

Smudge, one of my best friends is an American who lives in London. He is a HUGE Mets fan. Luckily, he hasn't killed himself over this year or last year's collapse.

He came to the States a couple weeks ago and he and I saw the Mets lose to the Nationals in Washington.

Sheesh! I *just* sent mine in. It's a pathetic little piece.
Some people have probably written grand opus' (opi?) and mine's gonna look like a little piece of shit. Well, I've been a procrastinator all my life.
I actually started writing one way and turned it around when I started getting waaaaay too detailed. It would've been 30 pages if I'd continued like that.
Admittedly not my best work.

Anxious to see what other folks come up with, though.

**Actually, I'd like to revise the ending if I could. It's alittle truncated. But, it's ok if I can't.

OK, folks, we've had a few stragglers, a few folks asking for an extension to get stories in, so take this as your LAST CALL.

If you missed the earlier deadline, if you can get me something by the middle of this month (November 15), now that I've started formatting things together I think we can squeeze in some more - but DON'T WAIT MUCH LONGER.

Mostly I'm allowing this because my own schedule has been such that I have not had as much time to work on editing things together until the past couple weeks, so assume that it is more likely the final 'zine will be ready to go early in '09 instead of before the end of the year. Would have loved to do it in time for the holidays, but I think it's more likely the holidays will necessitate some extra time to make sure it looks as good as it should.

Hey!! Cool beans. I had just assumed I had way, way missed the boat (but I'm pretty sure both you and Dirty have a slew of photos of mine that you're completely empowered to use however you want.)

Will see if I can get it together.
On Google - site:stewartcopeland.net "your keyword here" - thanks DM!!
