We Have Made Our Mark

I just saw the funniest thing over at TPT - it appears that the Sting/Andy fans may be feeling slighted since only Stewart has a Flag. It should be fun to see what they come up with.

I just had to share - it's the little things in life you need to appreciate :D

HA!! Pretty funny!

They can get the whole front row doing downward dogs in Sting's honor 'til the cows come home and I bet he still he won't depart from his script for one second to acknowledge it!! Just sayin'....

ha, ha - too funny Nancy! And you are so right, unfortunately!!!

I have such a desire to see everyone start repeating the jokes, line for line, so he maybe gets the hint. But Outlandogirl made an excellent point that not everyone is as crazy as we all are with going to all of these shows. So the majority of the audience thinks it's fresh!!

Yikes.

I listen to old boots and Sting ALWAYS seemed so much more relaxed and spontaneous with the audience - what happened?!?

It would be funny to see what the Sting/Andy fans come up with....
If I see one downward dog, though, Nancy, I'm gonna bust a gut :D

I'm certainly not averse to waving a pair of pink sneakers around at the shows.

Is the CHA! meme too general to be appropriated as the Flag of the Magic Stingdom?

I kind of thought that CHA was the meme of the Stingdom.

Although I can see where folks might want to do something that Sting might actually -- you know -- like.

You gotta wonder what Stewart says to the other guys about this. I dearly hope he's ribbing the hell out of them (Andy in particular) that fans from his *website* are doing this.

Nessy put up a great forum, but I still have to wonder why Andy hasn't got round to doing one himself over at as.com...
On Google - site:stewartcopeland.net "your keyword here" - thanks DM!!

Sting won't give up the CHA!

we're trying - trust me!!

I doubt the Sting fans are going to want to adopt that as their token of love

i'm feeling a little bad for andy too. sting can bleep my bleepin bleep though.

it's about time the other members got their praise. the spotlight hog is hating life on this tour because of that flag i'm sure. i don't wish sting ill or anything - there would be no police without him - and i have major respect for his tremendous talent. HOWEVER, stewart and andy are the meat of the music so to speak, and they are getting theirs this time around! andy has the solo room now - and it works great by the way stingo!

i wouldn't mind doing the pink sneaker thing either... sounds great! maybe we should all paint an old pair of sneaks pink and take pictures with the tube socks for new avatars... i'm sure that would get back to andy and he would have some toasty feelings. we owe him.

I dunno; I'm not all that sure that Sting is so bugged, but I rely on the judgments of those of you who have seen his reactions more close up than I have.

I spent most of my college life burbling around campus wearing pink Chuck Taylor hi tops (often with a green bandana tied around one ankle, it was the 80s, after all!). They go great with green striped tube socks! Bring it on.

Heh, I have sent three messages through AS.com to get them to put up a forum just so his fans can chat with one another and meet up at concerts etc and asap before the tour is over. I think that's about all I can do...I think either a poster with a pic of the tele or One Train Later Cover might be cool!

Sting's gotten all the love for the better of 20 years of his solo career and the way things are designed he is giving opportunity to praise Andy and Stewart (and draw away from himself)...so like there's an AS show, and a SC show...and he introduces the legendary AS and the best drummer in the world (WOOO!) SC...given that, I think he realizes this is the time to give the other 2 their due...SChas gotten the shirt and flag love...Andy is due. But without a proper forum, coordination of such things is not centralized...so really there shouldn't be much surprise that it hasn't been coordinated since there is no official space for such...they are interconnected, surely...

I don't know I think the whole "CHA" thing is a bit stupid and that is probably why Sting won't give up the "CHA" he is thinking possibly it needs to be more original than that....lol

As DM has said loads of times we don't want the flag to have too much notice taken of it.......

However I do think it is REALLY FUNNY that it pops up here, there and nearly everywhere (subject to postal deliveries!!)

I think drummers have a bit or a hard time coz they are always plonked at the back of the stage.......

So for Stewart to have his 'band' of merry followers I think is FAB!!!

And I shall carry on laughing till Cardiff when I will be very careful and not act like an asshat!!!!!

I'm more curious to know what the other guys say to Stewart about it.

Lynne, I've seen Andy variously smile, laugh, roll his eyes, and even look a bit annoyed at the Flag. But thus far, I've only seen Sting look annoyed. Which is why I am REALLY curious to know what (if anything) he says to SC about it.

I don't necessarily enjoy annoying Sting (ok, maybe a little -- forgive me, Stewart), but he certainly shouldn't begrudge his mate the props either.
