withdrawal

So, it has been two weeks since I was in Tampa screaming my head off and dancing till my feet ached. This was reunion show #2 for me and I'm a hurting something wicked. Why did I only plan for two shows? Why didn't I say, "Hell, forget the debt... BE HAPPY!"
Folks, I was thinking about it today.... I was wondering, why has this made me so happy that I want MORE, MORE, MORE??? Well, to tell you the truth, I think I've been a bit unhappy (maybe not unhappy but lacking that full of life giddiness) for a while and I am feeling stuff that I never thought I would feel after 1984. And, being more mature and having many more miles on me, well I feel elated and darn right giddy when I talk about the Vegas and Tampa shows. People talk about their wedding days or the days that their kids were born as their happiest days, well, I'm not married (divorced) and have no kids and the Vegas and Tampa nights were my happiest. No wonder I'm feeling like I must have more.
Okay, enough deep crap. Time for another cocktail and a toast to the reunion and all of us crazy fans! Cheers! JennyM

I totally agree with you Jenny. One of the things this tour means to me is that it reinforces why I haven't gotten married yet and why I'm so glad I haven't had any kids yet either. Had I done either or both of them, I don't think I would be having all the fun that I am now. And I've gotten to meet some of the coolest people from this website and because of this tour that I would not have had the pleasure of doing otherwise.

So go out and travel and go to more shows if you are able. I'd love to meet ya!

I know what you're saying Jenny. I'm having a blast going to all the shows. I'm not sure (& really don't care) what my more" traditional" (married w/kids) friends and co-workers think of my running off to see the shows. It's the most fun I've had in a long time. Aside from the super-fantastic shows the boys are putting on I'm meeting some really cool people like Con and everyone else. I'm going to remember all this fun for a looooong time.
You'll have to try to make it to another show Jenny.
Stewart and Stanley together again!! YO!

I've had this sort of withdrawal after seeing my two shows. I just keep telling myself that there will be something else to get excited about soon, like a concert DVD release or a sixth album (Andy stop teasing us!).
I could be replaced by any bright spark...

I understand where you're coming from Jenny. Seeing the show in Denver made me so happy. I didn't think I would react as emotionally as I did. After the year I've had, I think I needed this more than I realized. And it lead me to find this wonderful place.

thanks for the great responses! i really appreciate being able to share my thoughts and experiences with you all! i'm going to get all sappy on you all, so here is fair warning to click BACK to get off this thread...
first, i just want to clarify about my comment on being married and having children. what I was trying to say is that, many times i hear people say that the happiest day of their lives was the day that they got married or their happiest day was the day that their children were born. my comparable days or the happiest days of my life has been seeing the Tampa and Vegas shows. i did not mean to imply that folks who are married or who have children cannot travel to see the shows or enjoy them to the extent that i have.
i've just been so damn overwhelmed by the residual feeling that i've had after seeing the shows and by retelling my experience of the shows.
i've also come to realize that i do need to foster more happiness in my life. i rode my bike down to the lake today and had my ipod blasting the boys and I rode much harder and faster than would before because I felt energized. i could hear, feel and see the songs being played live again, and it was beautiful.
Yeah, we all deserve happiness. Thanks to you all, Stew, Andy and Sting, I find myself going after it with more gusto!
Namaste!

Jenny--There's something this band connects us to and it's hard to articulate exactly but don't be afraid to "go deep" on the Krypton Forum. Beneath all the sarcasm is a very empathetic group of people who know exactly what you're talking about.

You're suffering from withdrawal? I was at the May 28th show!!!! still on my high from that night it's a drug!!! That show inspired me to lose weight I've lost 12lbs. Anything is possible for something impossible is happening and we are witnessing it The Police are Back!!!!!
Neon is right we might be a crazy bunch!!!! But we care!! :D

Speaking of losing weight there English_Lion. As I was leaving, there was another shirt vendor. He looked me dead in the eyes and said, I have extra large. I was so pissed off, I didn't know wheather to clock him one, or buy a shirt.... I bought a shirt. Oh, and congrats on the 12 pounds!

The only answer is to marry a fellow Police obsessive, preferably a wealthy one who can fly you both all over the world to as many concerts as you can handle. :)

But Jenny, I know what you're saying. When I had my 30th birthday I tried to impress upon my friends that they should treat this as my 'BIG DAY', especially after all the time/money/effort I had spent on their weddings, baby showers, children's birthday's etc etc. Needless to say no-one bought me a dishwasher. Bastards. And then all their husbands/wives bought all of them AMAZING gifts for their 30th birthdays - a week in NY here, a new car there. Pffft. I think I got a bit bitter around about then ;)

Oh shit Hannah, you're making me feel guilty about my present to Ken for his 50th :o The poor boy is getting nothing like a car and in fact I think the present is more for me than for him!

He will be celebrating his birthday by being taken to the best gig of his life (I hope!!) and will have the pleasure of sitting next to me  in the 5th row to see Stewart and the boys at Twickenham on Sept 9th!! Also, I've secretly got tickets for his 2 sisters and their husbands to come as well (although they'll be in the stands). It's cost me a bleedin' fortune and it'll only last for a couple of hours. Perhaps I should have got him a trip to New York after all

Lol, Helen xxx

Oh I almost forget, he'll also have the delight of going out with someone who is still in their 30's - just!! Surely that's worth more than a new car
