Andy's solo is great. You can feel Stewart hates the song, but still he plays the heck out of it. But when I think to the original version, Sting SUCKS, he'e like 3 octaves lower?

Stewart hates jazz music. He hates muso jazz pretentious tracks.
This is most def. the most blues-jazz song the Police ever recorded.

It never came up amongst his favorites...

I remember a great "jazzy" drum of Stewart at "Shadows in the Rain" jamming ( in the middle of the song ) on a Japanese Concert of the eighties... "Budokan Hall", Isn't it?

and I think at an Umplugged POLICE album he could play with some Jazzy style...

Stewart can play ANYTHING. He doesn't necessarily have to like what he plays, but if you see the Jools Holland interview where he makes fun of Billy Cobham, and read some interviews (he even said that jazz musicians are so conceited and haughty because they don't get laid as much as rock musicians), you will realize that he does not even like Coltrane.

I read "Buddy Rich" was one of their drummers Idols ( he was a jazz drummer, isn't it?) for not saying "Buddy Rich" is his favorite drummer... 8)

About Buddy Rich, it was probably his father's favorite drummer...However, asking a drummer if he likes Buddy Rich is like asking a classical musician if he likes Beethoven.
