Hello!

Anyone has heard of this forthcoming photographs book by Andy Summers that should come out in April?
See this link (I don't put it in the Links Section, maybe some of you have some comments to discuss here):
http://www4.fnac.com/Shelf/article.aspx ... 02BEF&Fr=0

A quote from the Editor's note (in English on the site):
"In honor of the 30th anniversary of their first hit single "Roxanne," The Police launch an 80-city worldwide tour in the summer of 2007. This is their first tour since the group disbanded in 1986."

Seems a nice book, but expensive: 332,50 Euros!

Beautiful stuff. I may buy it if only to find out what kind of gear Andy used to produce these images.

Nikon? Agfa? Canon? I know Andy loves japanese cameras... I think he starts to learning with the japanese cameras he were received into their 1979 POLICE Japanese tour... besides the gear the quality of a pic depends more on the artistic glance of the photographer and the use of appropiate photo technics.. and for me Andy is an outstanding photographer...well I strongly thinks he is an artist with all its words.

I don't think he wants the money... I think is a valuable price from a valuable work... It doesn't mean regular photos... Andy's photo shots are artistic plus the interest of THE POLICE first hand photography into their intimity... isn't a regular collection of pics by a regular photographer of the news industry...are THE POLICE stripped into their intimity by someone of them in front of a photo camera, into this way the price is reasonable...

Art books are always more expensive, and this has celebrity cache in addition.

And I think this is a limited edition with all copies signed by Andy. So, maybe that explains the price tag.

Collector’s edition features:
• Limited to 1500 copies, each numbered and signed by the artist
• Packaged in a slipcase
• Contains over 600 photographs personally selected from the photographer's archive of over 25,000 thousand negatives (1980-83)
• Most photos are previously unpublished, and many of them have never even been printed prior to this project

It's still out of my price range.

perhaps could be a re-printed version for poors like me... without sign... and as a handbook with the half quantity of pics... but if I have the amount of money definetely I'll buy It, cause I know Andy's artistic works and how cool is him...but nowadays I need any money if I've the chance to fly abroad, I need money to buy fly and concert tickets, stayed in hotels, meals, taxi, metro, bus, and getting visas to see THE POLICE on stage and that means around U$ 5,000

I love Police Photobooks so I'd love a copy of this.
Especially since it's Andy's photos.

Maybe they'll play Miami, Jose...that wouldn't be quite so expensive, would it?

Ooops, I made a search before posting the link and didn't find Dietmar's one. Sorry!
Oui, pastas at least during 6 months! But we can pay it at credit without fees at the Fnac store. For my part, it'll depend if I still have money after having paid the concert tickets. ;)
[EDIT]Without fees at the Fnac store? I made a big mistake! There are fees, around 13%. It's not very interesting finally...

I would absolutely love this, too bad my birthday's not until September.

I have to wait and see what's happening with my taxes. Still haven't gotten one of the forms I need, darn it! If that goes well I may be able to afford both a book and a show. If hubby doesn't mind, that is.
