Quakes hitting Japan

Postby Divemistress of the Dark on 11 Mar 2011 07:07

Hoping the Japanese Nutters are OK. There are some messages flying around on FB...just thought folks should know since this, like, just happened.

8.8 quake and tsunamis. Holy toledo. I'm worried as heck.

Thank you Dive, this is Uccellina (after long time absence/just lurking ),
Yes, we felt the terrible earthquake some two hours ago and, we still feel the tremors successively.
We don't have much infos about the result of this quake yet, at least, I'm ok
Thank you very much for your attentions !

So glad to see you've checked in and are well, Ucce.

Takeshi, Yumiko, and Shigemi checked in on FB. No word from Midori or Masayo yet that I've seen.

(Gizmo-Tyro and Sun, are you still out there? If so, are you okay?)

Stay safe out there, too, West Coast.

Jesus. Just everyone just be okay, okay? Thinking of you all.
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

Yumiko posted on F/B: she has spoken to Midori. Midori is stuck at her office (no transport) but ok.

What a doozy! The safety of our Nutter and Police friends instantly came to mind.
Glad to see the reports coming in are largely positive.

I can't get FB at work so thanks for the updates everyone.

I could go back home safely with my husband Takashi.
Thank you so much for worried about & thought of us Japanese friends.
Uccellina e-mailed us and told us that our friends on S.C.net were thinking about us.
YOU ARE ALL AMAZING FRIENDS!!!!
I believe that your warm hearts guarded us from such terrible quakes!!!

I was working with my shop-clerk mates at the shop located in the center of Tokyo when the 1st quake happened.
It became bigger & bigger, so we had let our customers out of the shop and criticized on the middle of the wide road.
All people there looked at when the buildings were shaking and bumping with the next buildings!!!!
I even heard the sound of bumping, so horrible!

Then the 2nd quake happened and us all shop-clerkss got a direction from an officer as "close the shop and return home safely".
But all the traffic was down and cell.phone couldn't work. We had to walk 6 hours with no-contact with our family.

That was hard time for all of us. But thank God, my boy was safe and protected by my friend. I could catch up my husband on my way home.
and I never forget what my people did for me.
My boss guarded and took me to the station where my husband waited me.
My friends sent me warm e-mails & helped my boy a lot.
and you, my friends from all over the world worried me cheered me up like this.
Your sweet words brought tears to my eyes.

What a great community of freinds we have here -- and so lasting. I have been so warmed by watching all of the checking up, checking in and good wishes sent on facebook.

Thank you to Eugenio, Giovanni, Stew and team for these freindships.

Now I'm worried about the coastal areas. I know Larisa is OK in Melbourne but we have other Aussie Nutters...plus rumor has it even L.A. may see a surge from this.

Just...yikes. So glad everyone who's checked in so far is OK. Our family friends near Yokohama are all right, also.

When tragedy strikes like this, I just can't stop thinking, how lucky I am, because you never know, what could happen tomorrow.

I'm so glad that you all are ok. I've just now gotten a chance to check in, but I've wondered all day how the nutters in Japan and the western areas of the US were.
