About half way down the above page (and 105-ish weeks ago) is possibly the first posted evidence of the fabric that conquered the world, and a whole hell of a lot of evidence of the madness that was to engulf us all - in a good way :-)

Ahh, we were young once.

Nice sleuthing, smudge. That is indeed the first reference to what would become the Krypton Glory. It took me a while to figure out a few months back, but the flag's official birthday is May 13, 2007.

And like most two-year-olds, it persists in being a pain in its mother's ass.

Not a real flag, mind you - a "flag".

What memories that thread brings back! It was almost exactly 2 years ago!! I remember seeing Flaggie when he was a virgin....all fresh and clean. I wanna go back and find the daily countdown verses DM wrote. It was all sooooo exciting.

Take comfort in the fact that it is nailed to a wall, and therefore can't insert its fingers into electrical appliances, or fall into an unattended swimming pool.

Its an odd wee artifact. It embodies conflicting imperatives,
a) NEVER volunteer for anything - it will take over your life
and
b) do it anyway

Life is a whole lot more enjoyable because a glutton for punishment in NJ picked option (b)

Oh this is fun! I am going to have to come back to this thread this weekend and spend a few extra minutes reading it over coffee.

I wish I knew you guys then! But I was there, and had a great time.

It's funny, the weather forecast for Friday is hot and sunny, just like it was on the Friday that I left NY for Vancouver and it reminded me of so many details about that day and the weekend that followed. Best. Weekend. Ever.

Thanks, smudge! That thread is awesome! Like Susan, I'll sit down and read it through over a coffee on the weekend. Of what I've read, my favourite thing so far has to be the descriptor "bright-ass green". I also love that the thread title bears all three of DM's middle names: Resources, Logistics and Consolidating.
