Sorry, Stingofans...bad news....

Okay, he's been to "Scores" in New York and I didn't see such an uproar. If it weren't for this tour, no one would be saying a thing about it.

Ahem...how do you know? Has Ron Paul been there too?

Regarding the article, I consider it harsh and a tad venomous, even if I am not among the biggest Sting supporters. It's not like Sting is the only one. We have shitloads of examples.
The fact is, ALL rock stars are contradictory. Don't let me get started on Saint Bono. Or Zak de la Rocha and "Rage Against the Machine" *signed to a corporate megagiant from the get go....
Even Lennon spent a lost weekend where he insulted a waitress wearing a Kotex on his forehead and behaving as an asshole. He Who Wrote Imagine.
The contradiction, the guilt, the confusion, the sychophants, the Everything-All-the-time lifestyle transform any fairly normal human being into an asshole. Andy said it perfectly in OTL.
Unless you choose the Cobain Route and show the extent you feel guilty about having lost your integrity.
I think there was a personal vendetta here. It happens often. Sting must have refused an interview too many here.
Bring Back Uncle Miles. He knew how to manage the guy. And get different kinds of publicity.

Maybe he did it for the publicity. Any publicity is free advertising in my view. And it keeps Roxanne relevant so that when he sings it, he's keeping it relevant.

Yeah conroy, it looks like another good strategy about image; you know Roxanne is Police's classic, and sounds better if his author lives it as a real experience.

Ah yes..... looking for more material for a new song!!

Maybe he just wanted a drink?

Maybe he just wanted to know what this place was like since he'd heard so much about it?

Oh pooh!!!

As a member of the Police I don't really care so long as he keeps playing!!

As Relax is so well known, I believe he was just doing research for his own "joint" venture.

That Sting article was fascinating and insightful.

Every human being alive adds up to a metric shitload of contradictions, but when you're famous they're quite magnified...

Reminds me of a quote somebody posted here one time.. something like "The higher up the ladder you go, the more people can see your ass!"

Woot. :P

There is that...and there is also the fact that brothels aren't just for sex with prostitutes. In countries overseas, the people who work there have to be certified as clean, as well as the house. Often they are used as spas and the like as well.

So...while it does look bad...perhaps it's not as bad as it seems in the press.
