Question?

It's too bad they can't/won't release the shows from Chile (the Vina del Mar shows 2/19 & 2/20 1982), since they were both professionally shot. The camera work is much better than the Gateshead show, as well as the venue being unusual and visually interesting, and they're both very good performances.

Yess, Kroc, the Cool North Air and many, many other things that make my life a total blur...
I actually regretted having bought the vid. I did not like 80% Stingo with encrusted spit and coke-fuelled (he admits it candidly, so no worries) and 20% Stewart with a deer in flashlight look on his face (I am with Sockii on this one). I watched it only once, hence the confusion with the backup singers.
It is true that whatever concert they play it will be always focused on Sting. But there are other concerts with a superior Stewartage percent.
I watch ES and ATW to compensate, cursing the fact that the camera is part of his face 80% of the time. Ole Miles was right.
What is this Gateshead and how much Sting is there on it?

I like Sting in this video, with an earring and dancing a lot.

I like the sounds of The Police, but I have to recognized that is not the best video, it has many songs that I never hear before...

I got the Gateshead video on VHS and haven't yet upgraded to DVD. I just don't care for it enough. The only time I enjoyed it was on the night of one of the MSG shows in August; they played the video REALLY LOUD at one of the bars on W. 33 street and we had a few giggles over it but all agreed that the band sounds better now.

I saw that tour stop at the Meadowlands in NJ but I don't remember much, it was so long ago and my first real rock concert so anything would have been great!

I didn't care much for the Gateshead video, but then my teenage daughter joined me watching and she thought it very funny and oldfashioned and so we had a good time watching. Not a fan herself she even noticed the lack of Stewart and the overload of SpaceSting.

The Vina del Mar show?
I only saw the interview, and Stewart was not very talktative. Gorgeous, all dressed in whi-i-te....
There are not great videos of Oysterhead only and I am NOT getting a collection of Animal Logic videos--- the hammers and the vaudeville jackets with sunglasses...squirm squirm...wonder what Stew and Stan were heavily smoking at the time....

The Gateshead video just got a release in France a few months ago, and the cover is awful !
But I must admit that I like this show quite enough, after seing it several times, though the Ghost tour is not my favourite. It's cool to have a mark of each period (early gigs with Bremen and Hatfield, Hamburg Rockpalast, Essen Rockpalast, Tokyo, Chile, ...).
