Bonham/Copeland

Bonham/Copeland

Postby Skip on 03 Sep 2007 13:49

I was reading the Autumn issue of Traps magazine, the one with John Bonham on the cover. In the article his sister Deborah mentions that
his house was always full of music. She goes on to list some of
the artists she heard including The Police. This got me thinking -
did the two drumming legends ever meet? They both endorsed Paiste,
so maybe?

Apples and Oranges.

But they both reinvented drumming each in their own way.

I'd expect that if they had, we'd have heard about it by now. I mean, who could meet Bonham and NOT tell the whole damn world about it?!?

But I'd certainly be curious to know for sure.

I'd say they're both apples.....just different types.

The orange would have to be Gord-O. :)

Well, for some reason I don't see Stew playing Kashmir or Bonzo playing Regatta de Blanc.

I mean, technically they could have done it without a doubt, only BB was an innovator with an unbelievable sense of rhythm and a pretty heavy hand (and 4 sticks).

Stew in a butterfly in comparison. Less steady, more nervous, unpredictable, genius, inventive to the most.

Two superior musicians, only very different. That is what I mean by apples and oranges.

No worries, DM, it's just me on my laptop.
For some reason my account does not work on this one, so I had to set up another for when I am away from my desk or out coffeehousing.
Check my address, you know it.

That's why I got confused! I know I'm tired, but I can't be THAT tired.

Thanks for the clear-up, K.
