Is this a good idea for a POLICE Concert in PERU?

Is this a good idea for a POLICE Concert in PERU?

Postby Jose on 27 Aug 2007 21:33

I just revitalized with the news about a POLICE gig in Bogota-Colombia and an email reply from a peruvian congresist for approving in two weeks a law proyect for reducing taxes to spectacles ( a good point to allow peruvian promoters to be interested in bringing big names from show business to Lima-Peru)

The fact is that one idea coming to my mind. You also were noticed about the Earthquacke in Peru, and the devasted of some poor towns in the department of ICA ( specially at Pisco and other villages) One of the main things victims urgently needs is "WATER"

If THE POLICE, finally come to make a concert in Lima-Peru, Did you think is appropiate they will aid in some way for those poor childs or families from ICA?

I know "The Police" support "Water Aid" organization, who helps and teach for the use and accessibly of water in the bad called region "Third World"

What I want to propose is that all people who be the audience of (probably) POLICE concert in Lima-Peru come to the stadium with a bottle of water (I mean bottled water)... All those bottles of water, the same as the number of audience, will be delivered to aid people of poor villages of ICA, who don't have access with potable water.

You see any reduction in their amount of sold concert tickets or any percentage to be donated, only people action , only fans action to help the victims. I think is a simple but effective way of action aid into a bit time.

All this using the same promotion of THE POLICE concert by the slogan: "MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE" ( sending us an S.O.S.)

I don't know what you think, I wait your replies...

Regards from Lima,

JOSE

PS: By the way, National Stadium of Lima not suffered any damaged from the Earthquacke. The same the 98% of Lima

Yeah would be great if THE POLICE support or allow this idea to be happen... peruvians will love them more than now (51% of votes as the rock band peruvians admire)

Isn't a joke, this is the graphic of the poll and "The Police" won it:

Yeah until "Latin American Tour" (last days of November and December)

Hope to be seeing by STEWART and then he tells it to the rest of the boys

Perhaps changing the title of the thread works better?
Probably I changed it by, "Message in a bottle" (The Police in PERU)
Any suggestions?

I think we need a thread with Peru in the title. Did you notice Stewart is aware of your request, Jose? It's on the 2nd page of the "Europe Kick off" thread.

Here's what I posted in response:
Hey Stewart, if you make it this far....We think Lima would be a great idea. As you must know the country was devastated by an 8.0 earthquake about a month ago (you Californians know the power of those damn things.) Since you guys were good enough to play New Orleans in June (which I personally appreciate greatly), there was some conversation about your playing in Lima and then donating to some of the care groups that are operating down there. Our own Jose had the idea that folks might be invited to bring a bottle of water to the show...there's also an aid group called CarePeru (http://www.care.org.pe/ ).

We realize you can't do everything you'd like, but we notice there are gigs in Chile and Argentina planned. As you may know many people in Peru are very poor and many not be able to travel so far. I think, having been in Lima myself a month or so ago, that it'd be a great shot in the arm for folks to be visited by a high-profile American band...just to show that some of us do care an awful lot about what happens to our less-fortunate neighbors.

Just an update. See you in Amsterdam. DD
Cool Jean! Thanks a lot! I didn't review that thread till today... What you post to Stewart is the true... hope he could suggest the rest of boys for coming to Peru, and make it's happen... peruvians love THE POLICE and supporting this idea or other about the quacke will increase their reputation in my country to the sky 8)
