Options: BBCode is OFF and HTML is OFF

Postby arecev on 23 Aug 2007 00:06

Although I have enabled both BBCode and HTML in my profile, whenever I post a new message or edit an existing message the Options in the lower right say "HTML is OFF and BBCode is OFF".

Is there some other way to enable this?

Thanks! :?

Why do you want to change this? I have this as my settings as well and it has never affected me.

Well, I'd like to enable BBcode so instead of seeing the tags like "[b]This is in bold[/b]", the bolded stuff appears as bold.

Pretty much everything has been disabled on this board by the mod(s).

At first I was kinda disappointed about it, but I've learned to live with it, and even like it. It's nice having a board that's not cluttered with tons of image signatures and a million colors, like so many these days. Yeah, the quote feature would be nice, but we've learned to live with it OK. You can always cut and paste to make a cleaner quote, too.

Thanks. Glad to know that, but again wonder why the tags are made available to us in the message editor if they are turned off for display purposes.

Guess will make do with the Emoticons

It's one of the quirks here since a couple nasty hacking attacks last year.

We've just all come to get used to it. Sort of adds to the...quirky charm of the place.

Yup, it's a wonky little abode. But it's our wonky little abode.

Just type in the url directly, don't add any code to it.

Cool! So that means I can post tags that would never make sense in actual BBCode!

Like [giggle style=stifled]something, something[/giggle]

Looking forward to this!
