Re: the van tour in '66. Are you referring to your band, or the Beatles, or.....???? I'm interested in what kind of music your band played, whenever your tour was.....

Does it have something to do with the fact the tour promoters knew the fans would be "bending over" no matter what the ticket prices were set at?

AS far as the $$$ holy Shiesta... that is rankin it in. I love that bit at the end of ES when they are counting the money...from T shirt sales mind you. Throw some at me why dont ya...I wont complain...lol. I am wearing that movie out...Love the Stewart and Andy Commentary...they are a freaking crack up.

Shows that they are doing a fantastic job and us fans are die hards...hoo ya.

As amazing as they sound, I'm a little skeptical of the Chicago numbers. Every time they do the attendance at a Cubs game, it's usually in the 30's or 40's. Am I wrong? Does Wrigley really hold that many bodies? I mean, you can't normally count the field seats, right?

neon, when I said van tour in 66 to mega tour these days, I didn't mean my tour- I meant you cannot compare a Beatles tour to a Police tour- not an apples to apples comparison.

Back when the tix first went on sale, a bunch of folks speculated that Clear Channel and Best Buy would have first crack at the profits off this tour.

I doubt any of the guys are playing for nickels, but seriously - think about how much it costs to rent these venues, then hire a few dozen people to move the stage around, make sure the lights run properly...and that's before security and all the vendors.

Ah, well. Makes sense to me! Having said that, I've given up shoe shopping, have been bringing my lunch to work and generally cutting back on everything so I can spend mega-buckage on tickets to go to shows. These guys are my absolute favorite band and Mr. Copeland is unfuckingbelievable. I'm willing to do it assuming it *is* a one-off tour.

That's pretty much the same scenario for me, too.

At first I'd explain the expeditures to my wife by saying, " It's a once-in-a-lifetime thing, honey."
