Thanks, Mercury. This review (and its responses) is typical of this tour: A few sonic victims of a cavernous venue, some naysayers, some cynics, but then a horde of people who were blown away! Sounds like the fellas are hitting their stride......Anybody who thinks the Police are doing this "for the money" doesn't get it!!

OK, this is a funny line from that review:

"Copeland, who couldn't play an unadorned 4/4 beat if his life were at stake, displayed his usual polyrhythmic flair behind the drum kit."

OK, I don't know jack about cords and stuff, but it sounds like this reviewer does, which means that he knows his shit. And he gave it a positive review. People who know their shit have liked the show. Reporters who don't know anything about the Police and just want a story about controversey or whatever have been the negative nellies.

Not all journos suck.

I emailed this guy to thank him. I'm getting tired of writing long negative emails to journalists about their Police reivew.

I'm not knocking anybody's opinion. In fact, just about every single review I've read has been positive. It was the responses to the review--particularly the people who say the Police are "cashing in"--that I was responding to. In the end, when I listen to music, only one critic counts: Me.

Isn't quiet funny. Usually the music critics hate reunion tours and bitch about everything connected to it. In the case of The Police we read reviews from the critics and how much they loved it, telling us about a FUCKING STADIUM full of happy screaming singing fans - and after that some "fans" show up and whine about ... stuff ... ! ROGER WATERS??? For fuck sake if you like Roger Waters you should go to Police gigs in the first place ... !

So that's how he does it!

Yeah, thank you Kalypso. I pointed that out yesterday. Goes to show, one person prints that Sting is 55 and then that becomes gospel.

He was born in October, 1950, which means that he will be 57 this fall.

Thank you Phatty. Roger Waters is the Matrix to Our Phantom Menace. By which I mean it is the unexpected hit of the summer, which pulled into to town just before the big blockbuster and stole our thunder. Not to say that the Police are as crap as the Phantom Menace, only that I'm sick of people going on about how great Roger Waters was already. It's apples and oranges to compare him to the Police.
