Is there a decent Andy Summers forum?

Postby BongoBoy on 12 Jul 2007 14:36

Maybe THIS is the place to post about Andy, or start a new fresh one.

We are all pretty good here...so maybe a BIG titled thread about ANDY and we keep to that thread and bump it when need be.

Could do the same for Stingo too.

That way we get to talk about the other guys and give them some love....
...but we get to COPELANDIZE it !!!

It's the perfect controlling plan, heh, heh.

Just my 2 cents.
OH, that's horrible that people would heckle him. Bastards. Why couldn't they just enjoy HIS music? I love his sense of humor in his book and in all the footage I've ever seen of the band.
WE LOVE YOU ANDY!
Yes we certainly do! I've mentioned it before, anyone who hasn't read his latest book should do so. This guy is not only a world class musician but an accomplished photographer and has a great sense of humour. The Police Live Around The World is full of his various witty remarks; not to mention the wealth of life experience he has to share....cool guy through and through 8)

Seems like Andy Summers barely checks his myspace, there is some kind of forum there.

He's a hippy Zen Buddhist at heart, something tells me he is not really enthusing about even rudimental technology.... :?:

Just because he doesn't start a forum for himself, doesn't mean his fans can't start one for him. I believe that Gio started this site before taking it to Stewart. (Please correct me if I'm wrong on that.) But my point is, do we have to wait for Andy to start one for us?

Andy has always appeared to be a nice and cool musician and person to me.
I love his wit, and his songs always seem a bit off the cuff- which interestingly has made him so fresh and influential I believe in his guitar playing.
I don't know if he realizes it, but I suspect he does, hearing him and Stewart on the commentary of ES/TPIO, but this guy was/is one of the most influential guitarists of modern music

Most punk guitarists could never play like he did, and though Stewart and Sting get the very well respected glory,
Me thinks that the Police sound would never have been so memorable and haunting without his incredibly diverse playing!

Cheers!

Exactly; of course I always asked Stewart about most of the improvements before doing them, but the forum idea was some sort of 'default' thing to do in my opinion.

As to Andy Summers, I'm sure Stewart will not be disappointed if we start threads concerning Andy solo issues, and by the way, it wouldn't be the first time. I often talked about Andy solo releases and private stories with me and him around Italy here.
