A dead car, Lou Reed and Living Colors...I'm back!!!

Postby giovanni on 11 Jul 2007 20:49

I'm Giovanni and I'm back!!! (someone said something similar early February???)

Anyway, as you are my third family, I have share this with you (you can insult me...later).

Last week I booked my flight to Miami to go and see The Police at the Unplugged show, but then everything was cancelled...

...in the middle of sadness, I completely 'destroyed' my car (no crashes, don't worry); it's just that I never checked anything about my new car (I'm like that with cars) and 'she' decided to stop as I never changed oil, that turned into a damage of Euro 4200 (not bad eh???)...cool, things can't go worst!

At the same time I found myself on stage at the soundcheck with Lou Reed (life can be a surprise everyday), as his bassist player, Fernando Saunders, is an artist I take care for Italy; I met him on stage at the rehearsals, and of course Lou was there...good to be 'in the very middle' of Lou soundcheck, we chatted a little bit...

... and the day before I went to see Living Colours live here in Milan; I love them! What a concert...I lost my voice and pogoed a little, no problems this time!

So these were my last few wild days....I couldn't check that much the web, sorry about that, but I'm back now.

I'm stronger than ever, been very sad for my car (it' all my fault, can't blame anybody else), been very sad for the Miami issue...and .... oh no, I can see that tomorrow I should give my whole article about the Police for Jam magazine and I haven't started yet...well, the night is long....it's only about an 8 page article....good night...ehm, good morning.

NOW, you can insult me for my car...(that's what everybody is doing... and I deserve it!!!).

That'll teach you not to change your oil!

4200 Euro? Ouch, that's about 8 times what my car is worth.

Cool about Lou Reed. (My friend saw him at an in-store in NYC recently and she said he looked bird-like and fragile.)

I love Living Color. I've only seen them live opening for the Rolling Stones and that was a sucky gig as everyone was hostile to an opening act.

My husband loves them and we just dug out our Living Colour vinyl recently. Rock on Gio (but don't forget to change your oil!)

GIO, I think it is very nice that you paid heed to the Live Earth commandments.

being such a true fan you let your new car die....just to save the environment.

You can try to disguise it as a mistake...but we know better.

heh,heh.

Great story.

I could just see you chatting with Lou Reed sayin "Hey Lou, did you know that you HAVE to put oil in a car? I thought it came with it?"

Lou rolls his eyes.

Good to hear from ya Buddy, I know thw car thing. I had a flat tire yesterday...it's not much that's all I can give.

Get a Vespa !
I love my spankin new Vespa GT60 !!!

I'm gonna check the oil tonight.

Thanks - Bosco the mule.

Good to hear everything's OK... Living Colour's an absolutely amazing live band, I definitely recommend seeing them if they're ever in town...

Aren't you contractually obligated by the Italian government to ride around town on your Vespa with some Audrey Hepburnish looking chick taking in all the sights ?

That's always what I imagine people do in Italy.

Wowsers, who would insult you after such a week! At least the highs were able to counter the lows...and hahah, I can picture you now in the sunglasses and scarf, tres, tres chic!

Anything any of us can ever do for you, Gio, after all you've done, let us know!! Least we can do is cut you a break after such a week...and, uhhhh, If I could I'd take the Vespa off yer hands!! <grin> Only reason why the oil gets changed so frequently is that PapaCat is one of those Volvo nuts and likes to do all that crap himself! <grin>

[And, wow, am I big Audrey fan too!! When I don't think of something else, I usually go with Holly for Halloween or costume parties (although Rita Hayworth's Gilda was fun one year!) and have the full outfit, from years of vintage rummaging, down to the detail <grin>]

Can I tell you it's killing me to have Gio's article in the Japanese "Everyone Stares:TPIO" liner notes and not be able to read it? Someday....

Glad you're in one piece, hon! We're not surprised to read such tales of excitement, we know you are fabulous....Be careful out there!

You want to sell your Vespa because it's from 1980 and you know it's time to change the oil right?

(Lazy so n so.)

heh,heh.

Only kidding, I know it's not funny when cars cost you so much and how inconvienient it is.

Good luck and Cheers.
