.... are jams on the tour being recorded?

Oblique references of Stewart to impromptu musical encounters of each other playing each other's instruments, makes me want to ask "you know.... if nothing happens in the studio again (a waste)... might there be a release of just themes?"

That's all I want. Themes.

I don't care about "Methodically and Perfectly Marketable "Songs"".

I just want themes. Culled from sound check jams, whatever. The most democrat of music production: what you played in the room is it. A tour is transitory: music created by these 3 playing together is not.

I don't care about song structure, pop sensibility, compositional arrangement: I just want to hear these 3 brains congealing on the spot. No pressure of "writing", no record company demands, just "here you go"... Pure musical id.

Is anyone with me on this...?
Yeah. This is my tagline. Ok.

You might get a laugh out of this thread:

Or this one:

It's funny (actually, it's not funny at all - it's kind of sad) how you just KNOW almost everyone here wants to hear the shows, but you can't rally much support for the cause.

Well - actually, I'm not overly concerned about the live shows.

I would figure they'll get out somehow, anyhow. I've got _Police Around the World_, it's pretty definitive.

In my day-to-day life, I want to hear new, inspiring music. It's a rarity these days. I want to hear NEW music from the three of them, whatever form that may be - although I'd prefer it to be the most stream-of-consciously pure form possible.

In a world where "entertainment" consists of celebrating mashups, guys that talk over music, quickly cloning whatever the music dujour variation may be - I'd like to hear something they'd make without any corporate pressure, no "but this has to be WalMart-able!" vibe.

But, as a relative to a famous person once said, "I'm just a peasant, man," but those guys should be creating music together - not just playing it.....

:)

I'm trying to be more of an net vagabond these days...

If one is going to babble about the Police and Copeland's drumming "here" is probably the place, eh?

/ ended up "here" after having been re-directed to the Musician's Friend site trying to post on Craig's board - imagine that...

Every single gig is recorded. You can bet your tube socks on it.

For sure!

Well, Musician's Friend owns Harmony Central, so... yeah. Besides, not to rip on Craig, whom I consider a great guy and a friend, but that forum has become a morbidly depressing bitchfest, 24/7. I avoid it like the plague now.

In any case, good to see you here!
