So uh, How was the Dallas show?! Where are you guys?!?!?

Dallas show from a newbie's perspective

Postby thalassatx on 28 Jun 2007 18:51

First off, hi! *waves*

I met up with a bunch of the wonderful folks from this forum in Dallas, and I have to say, the whole experience was better because of the fantastic company. Every single one of you were a dream to meet!

It was amazing. I've been waiting 25 years to see the Police live, and by golly, I got my money's worth!! Sting hasn't sounded this good in years, and I felt like I'd been transported back to my high school days watching Stewart and Andy with all their energy!

I didn't have any problem with the sound at all, but I did get a snicker at Sting missing some of the lyrics in "Don't Stand".

I'd love to be able to see more shows, but I'll rely on you guys to keep giving the great reports!!

If any of you ever come back to Dallas, give me a shout and we'll get together!!

HI THALASSA!!!!! Welcome! Hope you stop by again soon.

I'm still camped out in the airport, yet another delayed flight...sigh...hope this doesn't turn into a pattern. I think I'm going to fly Southwest to NOLA. And I'm NOT checking a bag this time!

I will probablly write a more extensive review over the next few days... but ... I have to say... I think the Dallas # 1 show was much better than the Seattle # 2 show that I went to... not to say the Seattle # 2 show was bad.

The band just seemed tighter and the crowd seemed WAY more into it!

Dallas # 2 was also very good.... but a little less interaction with the crowd the second night.

I had a blast both nights, but I really enjoyed myself at Dallas # 1. The energy was incedible.

I had to laugh at Dallas # 2 when Sting said ...."you have more rain than London, you know that"

It had rained non-stop the entire time they were here.

I did meet Joe Sumner and his bandmates while signing their CD during Dallas # 2. All very nice guys!

Yesterday night I was in Dallas and enjoy the entire POLICE CONCERT, a friend of mine from PERU was there and with his mobil phone I heard the entire concert hehehe.... people requested him what happened with his mobil "ON" and he replied I was there many miles away into the distance in Lima - Peru - South America

Finally he obtained for me the "Set List" from Danny Quatrochi hands 8)

Hey Dallas!

Today morning my pal call me again and told me he will give me the "Set List" from the Dallas Concert (written by Sting in a piece of paper) when he come to Lima - Peru on second or third week of August... So I don't have it right now

If you talk about to post the set list...well I remember it was the same than the others shows... but I didnt heard "Spirits"... I told my friend when you heard Bob Marley song means that THE POLICE show is comming and starts whith the Stewart's gong...also he requested every time what is the next song will come and he said it to the other fans hahaha was like Nostradamus is on the mobil phone

Regards,

JOSE

Hey Thal!

Welcome to the board! It was a blast hanging out with you in Dallas as well. You are the perfect example of what I love most about Stewart's fans which is within 5 minutes of meeting you, I'd felt like I'd known you all my life. Hope we are all able to hook up again and have even half as much fun as we did on Tuesday night!

seriously??? i have been watching this thread and i can't believe how much trouble you have had! when you go to NOLA, just put a pair of fresh panties in your purse & your toothbrush!

it's the weather isn't it? i saw that there are all kinds of delays down there because of storms.

hope new orleans is kinder to you!

Get home safe Divey Dive. I'm taking the day off work to go vintage shopping in Camden tomorrow... I'll think of you every time I see skulls or Beatles bags! Let me know if there's anything I can pick up for you. X

thalassatx, it was great meeting you and hope we'll stay in touch. I'll actually be back in Dallas next weekend but it's for a wedding, so I may be swamped...but you never know!

Dallas, it was cool to at least say hi while IN Dallas! Sorry we didn't get a chance to hang more.

Dive, hope you're safely on your way by now. I think we're all lucky things didn't go worse with the weather being as crazy as it was.

As much as I friggin hate the Dallas Cowboys (die hard Eagles fan) I have to admit I had one of those experiences of life that burn into your memory, and not only because of the Police concert, thank you Dallas....everybody I met was super nice.....I already predicted to sockii the pinnacle of this years "Police experience" may have been met already, although I hope not. Hope everybody is dry and safe at home.
