Reissues - Eberhard Schoener

Reissues - Eberhard Schoener

Postby Howstupidmrbates on 09 May 2007 14:15

With all the recent reissues and Police excitement, someone (perhaps one of the guys themselves), really needs to dig in the vaults and unleash all the songs they recorded with Eberhard Schoener. I have some of the tracks, but us fans need a definitive collection of these collaborations. A CD compilation of tracks from the two original LP's was released in the mid-80's as I recall, but I was young and the disc was pricey I seem to remember. I wish I had bought it now, for it soon went out of print. Stewart, if you read this, tell Andy to call Eberhard and get this stuff out to the salivating Police fans! LOL

I missed out on so much......

When the Police split I thought that was it and sat the the corner and sulked......

They did so much post Police and I don't really know about any of it....

To be honest I don't really care about what Sting and Andy did (I can say that here and not get linched!!!)

But I do care about Stewart and I'm slowly catching up but there's so much and I've missed it all!!!!!

Oh..... POOH!!!

What else have I missed...

Jan,

You make me laugh out loud!!!

I've just been onto the Discography section.... Written down what I needed to and submitted my order to Amazon!!!

Oh well it's only money!! (good job it's mine and I don't really have any other life so I've got a bit of spare change!!!) And I don't have those money draining things.... children.

Animal logic, Oysterhead and La Notte Della Taranta Cd's are on their way to me........

I got to hear these for the first time very recently. I was surprised to find they weren't terrible, despite a few cheesy moments.

Kimmy, the Eberhard Schoener era is actually more of a pre-Police project. I don't know the exact time frame this stuff was released in, but it was shortly after the band was formed and one of the members (Stew i think) had some contractual recording obligations to fulfill for composer Schoener and dragged his new band along to help out. I'm thinking Andy is in there too, but again not sure. I'm too lazy to look it up too! :)

But, we have a resident authority here pertaining to all matters Police called Dietmar. Perhaps he can be summoned to help fill in the blanks?

If you are intersted about Eberhard Schoener discography, have a look on his site:
http://www.eberhard-schoener.com/index.htm

Andy did several performances on Eberhard's albums before The Police (Sarabande - 1975; The Book and Trans-Formation - 1977) and The Police did two albums with the german composer (Flashback and Video Magic - 1978 ). A LP compilation "Video-Flashback" was released in 1988, and a CD compilation in 1990 (the first CD I bought back then !).

No infos or updates on Schoener's site... but I really hope for CDs releases this year (with The Police at least !).
