Hello to everyone.
I'm from Rome, and I can tell you that in Rome it's very difficoult to find rarities about records and cds.
You can try, on sundays, in Porta Portese market; it's a very big second hand market, but please pay attenction to your pockets.
Many historical record shops are now closed from many years; there is one shop in via Flavio Stilicone 129 in Rome. Its name is Metropoli Rock, but now it is almost like a chinese bazaar, because you can find many things from clocks to calculators, but if you have time maybe you can find some of interesting like bootlegs or rarities.
There is a very good shop in Latina, about 60 km from Rome in the south of region: It's Freak Out, specialized in Frank Zappa rarities. Here you can find very very good items; the address is Corso Matteotti 63 - Latina. Phone number is +39 0773.479.846.
It's not near Rome but you can go there by train easily. Maybe it's better you phone before.
And If you want you, I can offer you a cup of tea or a coffe, and we can see something about The Police together.
I stay near Rome, about 30 km to north; here you can visit the etruscan necropolis of Cerveteri, for example.
Let me know.
By for now.
