So I've happened upon an interesting piece of memorabilia...

All of the above is true.

FWIW - The 12 inchers from tourzilla looked to be a Signature based prototype. I wasn't crazy about them- 13's are as small as I'd go, but truth be told my old second hand 14" Sabian regular hats are almost perfect to me. No idea what age they are but they've been quite versatile over the years.

That is too funny about the tiny high hat! HA! I was thinking along those lines...but not nearly as succint.

So what is the story about how you got it Spec A! Did Stewart give you a special one made of gold?

I have two of these but they are the same as Dietmars. I bought them for 19.99 on ebay...but have seen them for alot more...you see alot of crazy prices on there.

I pulled out my Paragon 13" hats over the weekend and I am really enjoying them. They're lightning quick, they have a great feel and a real retro/modern vibe.

I will have to try out some 13's some day...

Oh yeah! So here's the story:

One of my neighbors found out how big a fan I was of The Police. They had just redone their kitchen and invited us over, and he tells me he has something for me. We go over and he tells me this story of how his dad was a pilot for Delta, and as a kid he basically got 1st class free flights anytime/anywhere, and thus traveled alot. Back in the early 80's (couldn't remember when) he happened to be sitting next to this British guy in 1st class, and he had this jacket with all sorts of patches and pins and stuff all over it, and said he was the tour manager (or a part of the tour) and was flying back home after wrapping up the tour. He then gave my neighbor (probably 12 or so at the time) the gold badge off his jacket, and told him it was the tour groups' all access pass. My neighbor of course was ecstatic, had it boxed away all these years and when he found out about my love for the band, found the badge and was just thrilled to give it to me as he knew how much I'd appreciate it.

I took his story with a grain of salt, as I have a Synchroncity all access pass from when my parents went and met the band back in 83, and it's of course nothing like this badge. But this could just be because what I have is for guests and not necessarily wat may have actually been used by the people running the Synch tour. I vaguely remembered the badges, but had no idea if they were truly for the tour group, or just a chotchke for sale. I had a brief moment thinking I stumbled upon something with a unique history, but common sense (and Dietmar's crushing response!) brought me back to reality. Regardless, the thing is pretty damn cool! Not sure why mine is all gold/brass and not silver like what's been mentioned. I'll take a pic and will post later!

I think it very well could be an all access badge. I have never seen an all gold one and I have seen probably 50 silver ones. I think you have something here. Please post a pic and maybe Jeff Seitz can tell us for sure if it is or not...

The Tourzilla HHs were comprised of: a 12" Twenty top and a 12" Signature heavy bottom. Prototype only.

about this: "I took his story with a grain of salt, as I have a Synchroncity all access pass from when my parents went and met the band back in 83, and it's of course nothing like this badge"

can you send me a scan / photo of that pass and the date of the concert ? would like to add that picture to the Police Wiki with a credit...

and it would be great to see a good photo of that badge - maybe it IS a valuable item - who knows ? maybe Stewart does...
