Looking for Stewart in print- 1985/88

Postby grizzlelee on 22 May 2011 14:16

Hello all!
I am looking for Stewart print articles and/or reviews from the years 1985-1988? Here is a list of items I already have:

RHYTHM- Aug. '85 (copy)
KCS (Keyboards, Computers and Software)- Feb. '87 (original)
KEYBOARD- Feb. '88 (original)
DRUMS and DRUMMING- Aug. '88 (copy)
I also have a few misc. Rhythmatist reviews/blurbs/ads (original)

I am mainly interested in those years mentioned because of projects like The Rhythmatist, The Equalizer (series and album), Out of Bounds, Droids/collaboration with Derek Holt, etc.

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Mark,

I dont have much on Stewart in terms of comlumns and the like...I see stuff on ebay every now and again. somebody has a whole folder full of Klark Kent stuff but they want 50 bucks for it. sorry...but that is not what I wanted to talk about.....

I clicked on your link to Sleepytown under your name....That was TOO FUNNY! I think the best part was the advertisements on the bottom of each page. I like the town motto "Come for a visit, stay for a nap!" HA! then I started listening to the music...the music was actually good music! I gotta get the cd and book...You are a genius my man.... an unknown comedic god dispensing hilarity amongst an unknowing and uncaring population!

but fear not....You have one convert.
Stay ready...to cut and run.

Wow! Thank you! I'm glad you liked it. Not everyone gets or enjoys small town humor, but it's what I know. The music is actually done by my brother, Jeff. I just gave him a brief overview of the project and he ran with it. I think he did a great job. Btw, there's a track on the CD called "Orange Blossom" that, for me, has an ever-so-slight Rumble Fish vibe. You can listen to samples of all the tracks at CDBaby or Amazon.

Hey, Dietmar-
I appreciate your offer for some scans. I would definitely be interested whenever you get a free moment. There's certainly no rush.

Thanks again.

I have some old Star Hits magazines (US version of Smash Hits) from that time period. I seem to recall a review of The Rhythmatist. It may be the same that Dietmar has, but I'll try to find it and scan.

Sorry, I don't seem to have the issue with the review in it, although I distinctly remember reading it in high school and thinking "I need to get that album".

But I did enjoy reliving the music of my teen years in print, so thanks for inspiring that!
