That sounds interesting, and hopeful. But doesn't Stewart have a thing against solos? I will keep my fingers crossed (and my VCR set).

According to Dave's website, the Friday Guests are:

Kelly Ripa
(Live! with Regis & Kelly)
Jennifer Lawrence
(X-Men: First Class)
How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying
(Daniel Radcliffe and the Cast of the Broadway Show)

So unless he's gonna have Harry Potter bang out Caravan, it looks like Drum Solo week will close out without a drum solo.

Anybody know what part of the show this takes place? Beginning? Middle? End?

I know Anton's solo was at the end. Will they all be during that point in the show? I don't want to miss Roy or Neil, but honestly, I've never been a Letterman fan. I'm more of a Leno/ Conan guy.

Well, he did solo over the vamp. Still counts as one in my book and a very musical one at that! Hope I'm that swingin' when I'm in my 80s!

Last night of Drum Solo Week
Peart

I much preferred when his big band section was "Cotton Tail" as his "Love for Sale" pales too much in comparison to Gadd's version from Burning for Buddy, which was Peart's inspiration for his version

Poor guy is completely missing the swing gene - despite lessons with Freddy Gruber and Peter Erskine. Actually, he's not bad when he's just keeping time, but he throws in way too many straight 8th fills - throws the whole feel off. Anyway, it was pretty obvious that he wasn't comfortable cutting his solo in half. Wonder why he ever agreed to do it in the first place.
