Statesiders: Happy Turkey Day!

Goes without saying I'm MOST thankful for good friends. And I count you guys & gals amongst the bestest!

What are y'all thankful for?

Well, this year has certainly been one for the crapper - but at least I'm alive. Thankful for that.

I have **a lot** to be thankful for this year - the list would be too long. Let's say that not every little thing I did was magic, but the things that were....ahhhhhhhhh! :)))

Happy T-day to all of the Copeland Tribe, the Nutter Family, and absolutely everyone who feels at peace with the world. 8)

Happy holidays to you all in the US. Wishing you a good break with people you like!

There are cultural differences between the US and the UK when it comes to turkeys. Over here in the UK we don't inflict oversize poultry on our nearest and dearest until the winter festive season when public transport shuts down for a few days to ensure nobody can go home until they've eaten the leftovers. I had to explain the Presidential Turkey Pardon to my colleagues today. It puzzles the average european. My attempt at clarification was not helped by the fact that when I saw the relevant West Wing episode some years ago (complete with substitute turkey) I thought they were making it up...

ETA: Herewith the turkey pardoning episode mentioned above. Stick with it to the end - I'd forgotten the last line...: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZNCSyWy ... re=related

Hi Dive! All is well thank you. :)

I got into a political argument with one of the relatives on Thanksgiving. I was wishing you were around because you're so much better at political "discussions" than I am. I just get fed up and went to Starbuck's.

Whatcha doing next Thanksgiving?

Hope everyone had a great Turkey Day, now it's the week of turkey left overs, turkey for lunch, turkey for dinner

Very Thankful for excessively active and healthy parents (both in their 80's-thank God I was born so late in their marriage, or I might've missed out on The Police! Whew!). Great extended family.
I am blessed w/ a truly loving strong and giving boyfriend-and he has GREAT legs too!!
The 2 boys I helped raise are becoming fine young men-if they can make it thru those teen years  !
2 jobs I enjoy, and so far so good in this economy.
I great place to live, inexpensive, and am able to open my house to friends, family. AND I now have garden space!
I love this Nutter board. ALL y'all are an on-going hit w/ me, and I always look forward to keeping up w/ y'all's posts!
My 11 yr.old Ford Escort 5-speed STILL gets 38mpg on hiway, fabulous for that 8 hr. drive back East!

Hear, hear!!

Shy, I may be heading out that way for skiing in February if'n you want me to deal out any smackdowns. ;) I don't know yet if I'll be coming through Denver or not, tho, other than a shortish layover.
