Speculation on why there's not more Oysterhead

[quote="DirtyMartini"]I would just like to throw some more support behind the Extra Spicy Mustard ticket.

And top it off with a slab of bacon.

Now there's the metaphor I was looking for.
It's all mustard. No Meat.

*ducks*

However I will say that this vid that Chatch posted:

Reinforces my desire to see them live.

Yeah, that's a sweet video.

But I gotta say that I think Oysterhead's got plenty of meat ( . . . ), just not the kind that everyone necessarily likes. Kinda like olive loaf: a strange amalgam full of weird shit, but salty, distinct, and (to some) tasty. (Also, good with mustard.) But of course, if you don't like olives, it's just not going to suit your tastes.

I wouldn't peg every Oysterhead song as a masterpiece necessarily, but so many of them ("Rubberneck Lions," "Mr. Oysterhead," "Shadow of a Man," "Wield the Spade" (even without Stewart getting all shouty)) have such great funk and swing to them, plus a huge schmear of self-aware Drama slathered on top.

(Can I spread this metaphor any thinner?)
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

this is probably more discussion on oysterhead than the three musicians have collectively had since their bonnaroo show 3 years ago.

By the way, can anyone Gigasize or provide a link to the show in Vegas that Les did a few years back where Stewart made a guest appearance? I can't seem to find that.

I have actual pain when I watch that... I have this horrible fear that I'll never see Stewart rock-drumming again. Feels like knowing that you're jumping out of a plane with no parachute.

Nah, PR...its in his blood--you wonder why he keeps hopping behind the Foos kit and others and just unleashes the hounds? You shall see STEWART rock again!<grin>

Yeah, I think he's just taking a breather. Probably we'll know more as soon as he starts doing interviews for the book release.
