Why does something tell me that the Synclavier had its way???[/quote]

So I was bored, and did some digging on this piece of minutiae! Turns out they BOTH won...if you can call the result "winning":

That's from a MOJO article which was reprinted on thepolice.com. It might still be there. Would love to read about the Synch sessions...

Sockii's site had this insight, from Guitar World, April 2003.

At least Sting is pretty upfront about his intentions. Steve Perry is another great singer who ended his band's career but Journey never knew if he was going to show up or not. This interview is a must read for Journey fans:

One thing I love about Rush is how much they're into what they're doing. It's rare to have that much talent without the explosive egos.

(let's see Sting to Journey to Rush... is this post ADD enough for ya'll?)

That article is something else. I have a WHOLE new view about Steve Perry. Hopefully that's not just an article with a very jaded ex-manager spewing bullshit. Couldn't imagine the Police going through this!

We'll never know what the band thinks, since they're contractually obligated to keep their mouths shut regarding Steve. No matter what it's a borked up situation.

I think the members of Rush are incredibly close. I had a short stay in a Toronto hospital back in Sept. '07. Through the open door of my room I saw Geddy Lee and Neil Pert walk down the hall carrying flowers. A hospital orderly later confirmed that the mother of one of the band members was in a room down the hall and they had come to visit her. You don't hear of too many mega-bands that are that tight off stage. I've also heard tell of Rush renting ice in local arenas to play some pick up hockey together with friends.
In Dallas, the only game that really mattered was in the word gamelan.

This is so cool. I mean, NOT that you and one of their mothers was in the hospital, but...you know..the other stuff.
