dennis potter (author of brimst n treac) was a bit of a hero of mine.. he was dying slowly and did a heavy weight arts show interview which he had to keep stopping through to swig from his bottle of morphine: it ranks as one of the most breath-taking things i have ever seen on telly....... to steal from a reviewer on yootube;
"I remember watching this interview when it was first broadcast. Dennis Potter was a genius, a fascinating, inspiring, wise man. A rare irreplacable talent. This is a very moving interview and the first time I have seen it since the first time, and I remember most of it (had a lot of impact then, and now..) his words are poetry in this interview, 'the nowness of everything is absolutley wonderous....if you see the present tense, boy can you see it and boy you can celebrate it"
