My New Avatar (Shoes Bombs)

Postby Jose on 17 Dec 2008 19:18

By the way, I remember years ago I received a "Police" Fanzine made by an american fan, he put The Three Stooges on it like "The Police" I hope to find it into my files, scaned it and post it here

Ohhh yeah the shoe story, happened during a press conference between Mr.Bush and Iraqui's President... Bush said something like the war had success and inmediately an iraqui journalist said him "Animal!" and trowed one shoe, Bush hided himself and in a rush that journalist trowed his other show without success... their shoes never hitted Bush head

Some friends of that journalist saids that him wanted to be in front of Mr. Bush for trowing his shoes ever... but they never believed in that promise that finally happened... that ephisode of the iraqui's shoes was broadcated around the world and nowadays, lot of animated gifs, songs and virtual games will be published worldwide.

Mr. Bush took this ephisode with humour and says that shoe measured 42 or something like this :)

I love the avatar. I love that people are laughing about this. But a worrying consequence is that the journalist, who, in my opinion showed great restraint in throwing footwear and dog related remarks (which is extremely insulting - I'm not sure there is european or north/south american cultural equivalent), has been detained. There are allegations that he has been beaten.

I hope he is ok.

I'm going to go fling a few more shoes at www.sockandawe.com, and email my senators. Shoe throwing and insult hurling might deserve a mild judicial rebuke, but certainly not detention in the Green Zone, an in camera court appearance, and (allegedly) a beating.

Fortunately, Mr. Bush took this incident into a humoristic way, but the journalist mantain a revange and angry attitude and nowadays is considered like an hero for iraquis and a mediatic personality
