February 12th?

Postby Landlord on 03 Feb 2007 15:20

Hi everyone. Nice to be here.

Hope everybody is bearing up well with the announcements we are all waiting for due very soon. I must say I am quite enjoying the anticipation... Speaking as someone whose musical tastes were shaped by hearing 'Outlandos' and 'Reggatta' back in the day, I'd thought that the chance of seeing the lads back together again was gone. The first gig I saw was the 'Synchronicity' tour at Wembley Arena in '83.

It seems to be common knowledge, the UK press have reported that a "£150 million" tour is being finalised, that the tour details will be announced after the Grammys. So... February 12th could be the day?

As rumours, speculation and predictions are rife, understandably so, I've noticed that the annual 'Teenage Cancer Trust' gigs have been announced for the Royal Albert Hall in London in March. Noel Gallagher, Kasabian and The Who playing for this excellent cause. The Friday March 30th act "special surprise guests" will be announced on February 12th! Why a specific date for this announcement?! Got me thinking, probably a case of 2+2=5. I know Harvey Goldsmith has been heavily involved with this cause and Sting/Police in the past.

Anyway, just a thought fuelled by the current climate.
