A few weeks ago when I was poking around for Police news, I found an old interview with Stewart. (Sorry, can't remember where I read this.)
He was saying that Sting always got mad at him for going too fast/rushing the beat. Stewart met one of Stings regular touring musicians and was told that all of Sting's drummers call Sting "Mr. Rush", and complain about him doing the same thing.
I got the Live Aid DVD set for Christmas, and the other night I was watching the part with Sting and Phil Collins. They're doing a duet on EBYT, and about 1/2 way through the song Phil the drummer starts clapping the beat. He gets louder and louder with his clapping and then finally chuckles and gives up and starts clapping faster.
I probably wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't read that interview with Stewart, but having that context and seeing that, it just made me laugh.
Silly, but I thought it was interestiing.
