I'm very curious as to any type of religious prosecution the band endured. When I was a child, I almost never became a Police fan, thanks to the pic of Sting with the skeleton, haha. I was so young, and that scared the crap out of me. I thought you guys were demon posessed. Let's not talk about the flaming phone and Andy!!!!! My first cd was Outlandos, and it was burned thanks to Next To You. Can you imagine if they got as far as Sally? Hahahaha. I'd welcome any thoughts.

Their prostitute song may not have helped.

You know what they say, "Never judge a book by it's cover."

Our three cute blond guys, devilworshipers...can anyone picture it?

Mmmm, when I saw The Police guys I saw them very normal, maybe the most strange thing for me was Sting's haricut from Olutlandos LP...

Talking from another punk group, Ramones was a normal name for me because is the name of a little town in my state (Nuevo León), but I got the impression that the guys wanted to look like 'King Arthur but in, an ugly version.

Anyway, Ramones music still sounds incredible good :!:

Yep. May Joey rest in peace. A local bar near my house held a huge wake for him the week he died.

As far as demonic Police possession, for some reason I'm reminded of a Christian-rock DVD I saw lately entitled "Why Does Satan Get All the Good Bands?" I'm not sure what the answer is, but I do have to opine that nearly all good rock 'n roll has a certain Devil-may-care attitude.

>I thought you guys were demon posessed

That's what usually people tell about me...hmmm and by the way I opened a website dedicated to Stewart Copeland...uh uh....

and if you anagram the words Stewart Copeland you can get

PLACED TEN WORST (is 'Stewart Copeland' a hidden magic name-formula to be charted no lower than the tenth position in the charts...uuuuuuuhhhhh...)

or maybe

CEDAR SPELT TOWN (is it a secret location for magical purposes to become a mega-rockstar?)

uhhhhhhh uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

The fun *really* continues when you use "Stewart Armstrong Copeland":

TART LAD RAPT CONGRESSWOMEN

CONSTERNATE SWARM, GRAD PLOT

PROTEAN SARCASM, GLOW RED TNT

This may be my favorite, as the weather cools off here in the southern US at last...

GET SNOWSTORM DEPART CARNAL

Ramones punk music influenced The Clash and Sex Pistols.

Oh no no;

also Johnny Ramone died.

Just drummer Tommy Ramone, still alive...

At least all Police's members still alive.

alex, I think your parents were a special kind of paranoid, but that's just my opinion.

The rest of you and your anagrams need to get out more, lol!

I don't think "Murder by Numbers" went over well with a few religious groups that couldn't see past the title...

I remember Sting commenting about this in some article I read.

The only flack I ever took from my parents was from my Dad. I was listening to "So Lonely" & he wanders by and says...
What are they saying?
Salami?

And walks away singing "Salami, Salami!!"
Still makes me laugh today
If I'm holding a beer, some of it is probably going to get on him, you know?
