Kevin Lamb - Sailing Down the Years

Kevin Lamb - Sailing Down the Years

Postby Popcorn Blizzard on 19 Jul 2006 21:50

I bought this 1978 LP this weekend because of Andy Summers' contributing guitarwork. Unfortunately I don't have a record player, so it'll probably be 'years' before I get to give it a listen. Has anyone heard the album or any of the tracks?

Still searching for that Frolk Haven boot, by the way.

Yes, I own a copy of the LP and listened to it before my record player broke. The tracks are not too different in style from Andy's work with Kevin Coyne. Nothing exciting. You are not missing much.

By the way, I did manage to tape the songs featuring Andy onto a cassette in case anyone would like a copy.

Well, about this record there is listed a CD boot copy on Midnight Records site:
http://www.midnightrecords.com/newcds3.html
(search for police there are other three things that may interest).
Please note that I think the owner of Midnight Records had problems for bootlegs selling (I should have the article somewhere) so it may be questionable to order from it or not. If you get a visit from the FBI don't blame me.
Anyway some time ago I got from him the Dantalion's Chariot CD that was a regular release and received without problems.

Hope it helps.

Edit: He was prosecuted in 2004 and his shop busted, but he goes on with the online shop. More here:

Wow! A reply to a message I posted about 3 months ago. Thanks for the info guys. Yeah, I've heard some of the Kevin Coyne stuff (Marjory Razorblade), and it's just not my thing.

Thanks for the info on Midnight Beat Records. Dang, that was aplace I had hoped to visit. I'm sad to see that there's no longer a brick and mortar store.
