OT - me, me, me...

OT - me, me, me...

Postby Dietmar on 29 Jan 2010 10:13

Remember that fanzine Sockii was compiling with all our memories of The Police's tour ? I hope it's still coming...

in the meantime I added the report I wrote for that fanzine to the Police wiki page about me - and updated it a bit
I've done this as I repeatedly had to explain to Police related persons who I am and this sums it up quite completely!

That was an absoutely FANtastic read, Diet!

Thanks for the honorable mention! I love how you described it.

JB2 was one of the most if not THE most memorable day of my entire life.

Well done, sir.

Nice pic, btw. :)

You know what's funny? Just yesterday (no really, just yesterday) I was lamenting my inability to get the thing finally compiled and printed in a reasonable format for so long, when I thought about perhaps just integrating the project into the wiki somehow.

So instead of a printed "book" (which would cost money to print and sell), perhaps creating a section of the wiki where the stories are compiled - with the submitted photos, with links going directly to the concerts and events, user pages, etc. So it would be more of an "interactive" compilation than originally had been devised anyway. Wouldn't cost anyone anything, could be edited (or locked, whichever is preferred), people could still add their stories later on if they wished.

Thoughts? Anyone? I still have all the files, of course and would just need to get permission to upload online and format for that project, but it would be a lot easier to accomplish at this point, I think, than trying to get it into a book project.

1.) LOVE Dietmar's entry (although perhaps he should lock it from editing to prevent we fans of his from adding smiley faces and similar)

2.) I think a Wiki version of the fanbook would be great and would reach a wider audience. I'm tied up this week, but can help starting Feb. 8th.

I'll take me a little while to work up some simple templates and such, but will be in touch after next weekend.

I think this would work really well and enable a lot more folks to enjoy the stories - AND get them off my f*cking computer stalled out in formatting hell...
